—- my muse recalls their favorite memory with your muse.
Looking through his scrapbooks was what ate up a lot of Nate’s time at home— Okay, well, that’s clearly an exaggeration, but it still took up a modest amount of his time. Memories are best kept through photographs, after all. His wedding day (the second one) was the best day of his life, and although he remembers every moment of the day like it was yesterday, it probably had something to do with the fact that there was a ton of Polaroids in this album.
Every photo blows him away just as much as the last, he’s seriously led on one hell of a life, and although him and Samuel were split up for a large amount of their lives, they still had a few photos in here, and they definitely had been working on the memories to make up for the lack of photos. There was always that one photo of them both, though, from when they were kids on probably one of the biggest nights of their lives.
You know, Nathan had been holding onto that picture for a long time. It happened at the peak of his teenage angst– which probably happened around the same time as Sams. That goofy picture of him and his sibling wearing ridiculous headgear, it was a fond memory, one he kept very close to his heart. He finds himself staring at it for a solid 10 seconds before blinking, knocking himself back into consciousness.
He’s very aware that he’s much more sentimental than Sam, but, since Sam was only a few feet away in another room, he calls him over. “Sam! C’mere, I got somethin’ I wanna show ya!” Just like himself he’s sure his older brother remembers the day as clearly as he does- but he rarely gets to say he appreciates him, and this picture ought to be an easy gateway to the topic.
When Sam enters, Nate smiles softly, tilting his head as though to say, ‘come on, closer.’ as he points towards the photo with his left finger, holding the page down with his right, “Out of curiosity– what drew you to that hat? I mean, of all the objects in that room you picked that one becaaause..?” Terrible conversation starter, absolutely abysmal.
