When he heard a voice in the clattering rain, the child raised his head. The drops of rain continued falling on his nose and face as he stared at the stranger. It was odd. It was like he had met this fellow somewhere before. But, that couldn’t be possible, could it?

When the door opened, the shivering child looked inside. What attracted him more than anything was the warmth of the fireplace. The crackling fire reminded him of his own home. It reminded him of his mother cooking her soup. The scents that filled the house was enough to attract a young Link and his father back inside.

Being overwhelmed by memories, the child rubbed his teary eyes with the palms of his hands.

Heavy rain fell down upon the poor child. The hood he was wearing was already completely soaked. The clothes he wore underneath it drenched completely. Having found a porch that could shield him from the rain, Link hurdled underneath it, hugging himself.

He was cold and hungry. Not to mention he had no idea where he was. He shivered as his stomach rumbled. Tears began to form in his eyes. Tears he desperately tried to hold back.

“Hello my favourite student! I hope these arrive to you safely. It took me an age to fig up my old but reliable sinking lure, I know they aren’t prohibited in most fishing holes but I was told by a fellow knight that you landed a Hylian Loach! So I thought I’d give you my lure as a congratulations. I also found this sword that I’m pretty sure you’ll like, it served me well during my adventures so I know it will serve you well. I’m running out of ink so I’ll have to end this letter short, and yes I bought that mug from the coffee shop! I love the one you got me”.
