Gentle Touches!
❥ : tucking stray hair behind their ear
For hands so much larger than her own, they were surprisingly gentle, Sera noted, her gaze softening with a glance up to the taller SOLDIER. She’d been fighting with getting her hair into a decent ponytail all day, constantly missing strands and chunks that continued to slip into her eyes every time she leaned over or tilted her head - Hair Zack had clearly noticed, careful, gloved fingers easing the blonde strands behind her ear with the first moment of downtime they’d had in hours.
It was a gesture that nearly had her melting just from the warmth behind it. Zack had always, somehow, known just how to make her smile, or even made the slums feel brighter whenever he was nearby... And as much as she wanted to return the favor, doing so in the middle of the slums, with so many people around to see, was out of the question. No, if she was going to thank him properly, she’d have to do it later, when they were in the relative privacy of the tree she’d claimed as her ‘home’ for the time being.
But nothing had said she couldn’t at least start, far smaller hands catching his before it could pull back, holding it against her cheek for a slight nuzzle of his palm. It wasn’t what she’d wanted to do, no, but it was a good start, and that was what mattered most - Especially when it meant a chance to gently ease the bottom of his glove up and onto his palm, lips ever so gently pressing against the pulse point in his wrist. Brief as it was, the beat under her lips was a reminder he was real; she wasn’t dreaming up this man who’d been making her laugh since they’d met, honey eyes watching his face for any signs she needed to stop - or that she’d crossed a line. This was so unlike her... Was it too much? Or...
“Thank you, Zack...” For being my bright spot in a world with no sunlight otherwise.
