Ninja Brian could spot danger a mile away. So when he saw a man trying to be stealthy as he followed a woman from a distance, he decided to intervene. And by that, I mean that right before the man could corner her, Ninja Brian appeared behind him and slid a knife into the side of his neck.

Had he not been used to it, Ninja Brian might have been disgusted by the wet gargling sound the man made from choking on his own blood as he fell to the concrete ground. He added a kick to the dying man’s stomach for good measure.

he doesn’t do well under pressure, unless it’s within his journalism. with time to prepare, to set up, to get ready for whatever happens, eddie is calm and collected, brash at times. but when it’s something that happens suddenly for which he has no reasonable methods in problem solving, he has been known to panic. so here he is, with an injured darcy and a short-circuiting brain. “uh -- okay. um. i know a guy. he’s a -- i mean he’s a doctor, i don’t really know what kind, i didn’t ask, but he knows about, y’know, things, so. so we’ll go see him.” because bringing a girl to his ex’s new boyfriend mad a lot of sense.

he’s laying on the floor when darcy arrives. weeks later, and he’s still trying to get into these meditation recordings mrs. chen gave him. weeks later, and they’re still not working. for him, at least. venom likes them, and eddie is sure that if the symbiote could purr, he would be. he likes the guy, he does, but it’s nice to have his mind quiet for a bit. constantly having internal arguments is.... tiring, so that’s why he doesn’t get up when the door to his shoddy apartment opens and closes, even when he smells the food the woman has brought along. “just give me like...” an absent wave of his hand. “minutes.”

     “ Huh — oh. Oh,  g o d. “    The vigilante retreated just as quickly as he’d leaned forward to take a look.   “ Yup, I’d probably get that looked at if I were you. Seen enough stuff like that to know, that ain’t right. Also, can I just, out of curiosity… what the hell did you do? “

The question confuses him.     “ Of course… “     He would know something was wrong. He would notice her lack of presence. He was trained to. But, was that what she meant?  Was that all she was asking? The dragon settles back in his chair, brows creasing down into a questioning frown.    “ Why do you ask? “

They had intended to keep who they were a secret, but with a secret international organization snooping around anything supernatural, that wasn’t really an option. Eddie had been on the short walk between his bike and his apartment when he was suddenly picked up by men in suits. It was rather cliche, really.

They ended up sitting in a cold room, looking almost like a scene from every single cop show ever. NCIS has gone downhill, Venom commented. Sighing, Eddie slumped their head on the metal table.

“Miss Lewis, do you have a moment to spare, please?” To look at him standing there it was easy to see what he wanted. He was a journalist who thrived on chronicling interesting news piece after all, and made no attempt to hide it.       “On the record, I was wondering if we could sit down and you could share a little on what you know of reported sightings on, ah,” pausing to flick through his notes, Eddie looks up again and continues. “Norse gods on earth”?

S. H.I.E.L.D. and T hor were two reasons why he’d met D arcy Lewis. While she was a firm advocate for hero rights, she must have earned a fair share of haters. One of which was pounding on the front door of the Sanctum, yelling at how she was going to bring the entire world to ruin. Stephen glanced at her and motioned that she should step back a little. That door wasn’t opening unless he knew how to do magic, which Stephen highly doubted.
