man i know nobody cares but i want to vent abt bakugou a little bit (or explain why i hatehatehate him)

(psa if u know me and my brother in real life and u tell him about me saying this i hate you, officially)

i cant stand how he treats midoriya, i cant bear it, both because of how maternal i feel for midoriya and how much it reminds me of a more exaggerated version of how my brother treated me as a child; let me tell u guys, especially ppl who ship him with midoriya, that that abuse sticks with you in the form of garbage self esteem and effects nearly every single thing you do. its also not childhood friendship... its emotional (and physical and verbal!) abuse, and frankly, i dont like the way that its tolerated in the comic. im glad bakugous hatred for deku has kind of turned into a joke, because bakugou is obviously acting like a child and its played that way, but that doesnt make it any less fucked up that he bullied deku for 10 years (i think, but at the very least a damn long time) and probably played a big part in ruining his childhood? i cant get over the fact that deku must be the most gracious and forgiving person in the world because if i was in his position id have distanced myself from bakugou and denounced anyone who associated with him

im sensing a scene where bakugou apologizes to deku but i honestly hope it never comes, or at the very least that deku doesnt forgive him, especially if the apology isnt deeply deeply sincere. bakugou doesnt deserve forgiveness in my opinion, hes someone whos been gifted with everything his whole life (maybe not parents but we dont know) and used it to ruin the life of someone with infinitely less

i would bet money that theyre gonna explain away his behavior with the “shitty parents” excuse, since we were never told much about hsi family situation, which is valid but doesnt absolve him of everything in my opinion. the reactions of his early-childhood classmates (ex) the scene where his whole class fucking booed him for acting like a dick in the first episode. its safe to assume that theyve done that to him before i think) should have put him off that his behavior was shitty and perhaps have urged him to change, but he didnt

with the way that he acts, i see one of three family situations most likely in store for him. he could be (1) the child of a very rich family or just upper class who treats him like a fucking prince and thats where hes gotten this superiority complex from (but that wouldnt make the audience feel bad for him so i dont know if that explanation would cut it for someone whos supposed to be a main, sympathetic character), or (2) his parents were either absent or assholes, leading him to become jealous of midoriyas relationship with his mother and resulting in him treating him like shit and putting him down in a desperate attempt to become better than him, and lastly (3) he could genuinely be just a huge asshole who thinks that midoriyas a freak and treats him lesser because he feels he has the right to (but again thats disgustingly unsympathetic so i doubt thats the explanation theyll use)

also frankly any actual in character midorya/bakugou scenario would be abusive as fuck and terrible, terrible for midoriya like who the fuck would want to be with someone whos constantly telling you how bad you are, insinuating that nothing you ever do is good, and that theyll “become better than you” or whatever. It’d be pretty fuckign threatening and upsetting, right???? plus, seeing as bakugou had screwed over midoriyas confidence (less so now but u know... the scars stick with you i can tell u that from experience) and the fact that midoriya is at his core a good person makes me think that bakugou would be placed with serious power over midoriya. honestly, can you picture midoriya treating bakugou the way bakugou treats him? personally i cant, and that unsettles me in terms of baku/mido and the balance of power between them

basically i hate him because hes a bully who gets too much sympathy, especially from midoriya. if u like him i dont care because i its extremely personal for me but i just wanted to explain my opinion so i dont seem like a dick
