After women finally fought hard & won the right to vote - #suffergettes Corporate #advertising shifted in the #1920’s -#1930’s : such as this #vintage #canadianpacific #ad #travelposter depicting a lone #independentwoman - in solitude - #onherown - making #herownway in #herworld making #herstory - to explore & travel as she saw fit to see & do. HISTORY HAS A WAY IF REPEATING ITSELF! Things changed after WWII ... from the late 1940- 1950’s ... women were expected to be housewives at home caring for children and working husbands in suburbia. History is NOT linear progression .. it is under constant stress- with the push/pull and pendulum swings between those of us se king progress and those wishing to go back to the Old ways. That’s why we actually have not really progressed that far. ... and still need to fight for everything everyday. #travel #retroactive (at Smallstudio Design)
