Acquainted / Reza & Hera

Reza had always thought parents who put their kids on leashes were lazy. That was before he had an eight year old who chased after cats wanting to take them home while running errands. What should have been a quick trip to procure reagents had turned into Reza letting Fadela go finish that herself while he let Sabiha tire herself out.
Except they were going on an hour and a trip to the park and walk through much of town did not settle her down in the slightest, He opened his mouth to call her back to him so they could just go home, but a stray cat ran by and Sabiha bolted after it.
“Sabiha, no, leave the cat alone!” He called after her in Arabic. Sabiha skidded to a stop, but not in time to avoid running into a woman’s legs. “Oh, for fuck’s sake...”
“I am so sorry,” he scooped Sabiha up off the ground and held her in place while she just barely struggled against his grip, wanting to go after the kitty. “She ran out of my grip of her hand after a cat.”
