Explaining this because I love fleshing out the family trees of Next Gen characters, I like the idea that sweet little Sophia has got some fucked up family lineage, and some of these characters are going to be relevant in Draco Malfoy and the Tale of Many Masters, so I kind of want to give some more in depth explanation.
In short:
Gordon Barclay was a case very similar to Mr. Zabini (Vittorio Zabini II), where he was a Black man of very pure blood, but because he didn't have friends in high places like the Shacklebolt's, they were never recognised as a Sacred family. This led to him being extremely blood purist as a way to make up for his lack of notoriety.
Dominic Maestro is a man of unclear age, and a Metal/punk musician, so I like to imagine that while he's also of quite pure blood, he doesn't care much for it and wants to use his privilege to uplift muggle-born, squib and halfbreed voices. Whenever he collaborates with other musicians, he's pretty much always collaborating with an underappreciated musician of impure blood status. (Also, I like to think The Hobgoblins and Weird Sisters were heavily influenced by Dominic's music).
Angus as a result was also a man of incredibly pureblood views, and experienced quite a lot of external pressure from his father to be better and purer than the white purebloods who would denigrate them. In my version of the timeline, he would be the same age as Narcissa Black and quite good friends with her, and probably Evelyn Zabini although they would pull away from each other as she became the husband killing girlboss refusing to take anothers name that we know today.
Junia Maestro, insterestingly, wasn't very punk herself, but did grow up with an extreme amount of compassion. That compassion is the very thing that led her to fall in love with Angus, seeing him for the man he could be rather than the man he was. Gordon disapproved this choice of bride because of who her father was, but also thought that perhaps if the Barclay family could sway even a Maestro to pureblood supremacy, they might finally get the recognition he thought they deserved.
Angus and Junia were in love, and that's probably the saddest part. They married for love, and that love was almost too unconditional on Junia's part. Her relationship with her father became strained as Angus continued socialising with people like Narcissa and her friends. Junia wanted him to be a better man, and she knew he could be one, he just hated his families lack of a reputation more than he loved her.
Tilla and Otto on the other hand had a very cute friends to lovers romance, with the two of them bonding over their homesickness. Otto missed Germany, although his mother insisted that Durmstrang had not been a safe place for her and she only wanted to protect him. Tilla missed the muggle world and her little sister, although she would never trade magic for anything.
Both couples ended up having squib children, although they responded very differently to it. Squibs (in my headcanon) are believed to be the result of such impure behaviour magic itself deemed you unworthy, and thus the entire family was ruined by a squibs mere presence in the bloodline. Gordon insisted that it must have been Junia's impurity that caused Douglas to become a squib, and claimed she must have been cheating on his son, and while Angus believed she would never do that, he did blame her for Douglas's squibhood as well. Meanwhile Tilla and Otto had muggle family, and were happy to help their daughter Aria adjust to life in between worlds, with Auntie Amelie adoring her sweet little niece.
Douglas would have been part of the Bronze Trio's friendgroup (Draco, Gregory and Vincent) but after being discovered as a squib he was sent away and the three of them believed he'd been trying to steal their magic, casting him aside with little trouble. There aren't many educational opportunities for squibs, so Douglas and Aria both ended up attending The London Disciplinary School for Squibs, which while their only option, wasn't a good one. Tilla and Otto did everything in their power to ensure Aria understood they were not ashamed and that she was not a danger, but Angus did not do the same for Douglas, and Junia also grew resentful as Douglas seemed to have ruined a man she thought she could change.
Douglas became known as a troublemaker, constantly getting into fights, missing assignments, always in detention or suspended while Aria was well-enough behaved that she avoided most trouble. Although, some would argue her muggle heritage actually benefited her, as people assumed it was simply the intermixing that created her, and almost felt bad for her, while Douglas was simply thought of as trouble (*cough* Black boy is trouble and White girl is not, typical *cough*).
Despite this, Douglas and Aria were best friends, and when Douglas dropped out in his fifth year and ran away to live with his grandfather Dominic, she was one of the few people that knew what had actually happened (along with younger student Wren Scamander, had to get some Rusted Trio in here). Douglas ended up getting along much better with his punk grandpa, and got an apprenticeship with a muggle tattoo parlour, fading into obscurity as people weren't sure if he'd died or not. Aria completed her education a year late, as LDSS was attacked during the second wave of the wizarding wars, and became a Youth Worker, specifically working at a centre in Diagon Alley that welcomed anyone in, no questions asked, providing them with food and resources (if asked) for escaping a bad home situation.
The two of them got married and had their daughter, Sophia Barclay, who eventually showed that she was magical, which was a whole roller coaster of emotions as Gordon Barclay tried to reach out to them.
They sent Sophia to school and she was sorted into Ravenclaw, becoming very good friends with Alice Longbottom II and Vincent Goyle (Steel Trio supremacy), and eventually befriending Albus Severus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Granger-Weasley. Sophia is what I would describe as a fail lesbian, as every single girls she's ever had a crush on has shortly thereafter ended up in a relationship with someone else. Meanwhile someone else (either Rose, Alice II or Melody depending on what you ship) is always watching from the sidelines like "okay but babe I'm RIGHT HERE".
