The HS helped me understand this verse a while back, that used to confuse the hell outta me, and I got reminded of it today. 'For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.' Deut 4:24. The thing is, when we think of jealousy, we think of it in a human sense. 'I want what they've got' But if we first believe and trust that God is good, that He loves us fiercely, and that His best intentions for us are at the fore, then we can completely trust Him, when He calls for complete surrender to Him alone(jealousy) we should be stoked! The God that loves you without limit or catch, wants you to focus most on Him. That's actually a loving action!
