I’ve yet to knowingly try bugs but the unknowingly ones I’ve never noticed and so are probably fine. also, have you ever done the ~bugs in suckers/lollipops thing? because I feel like chocolate is one thing but the idea of licking until I’m caressing the bug with my tongue is weird

am considering going on quest for dust of ants to test this theory, but if I wanted to actually science it means I’d have to do it the way you tried and honestly idk if I have the willpower. (I’ve seen grasshoppers and scorpions and shit like that, that are big and stuff, but ants seemed an odd choice I had to know)
Ants are pretty common here? I’ve seen scorpions a couple times, but never had the pleasure of trying them. Grasshoppers are alright, I suppose. I don’t mind them.

were they whole ants or is this something that could have been solved by pureeing the ants into Dust of Ants (…not something I’m looking into, just have never had bugs in chocolate before)
I don’t know if that could have solved the problem, but I’d give them another shot if they were? But yeah, they were whole ants (and even though you aren’t looking into it, you’re asking interesting questions).

I’ve honestly never felt the desire to eat chocolate covered insects of any kind, like that alone just sounds disgusting personally.
A lot of things that aren’t common for us generally sound gross or unappealing. I love trying new things, but I’m a huge texture person. So it makes the act of trying new things difficult sometimes, haha.

how were the chocolate ants? bad chocolate? bad ants?
Okay, so they were actually quite good, but I didn’t like the TEXTURE of them. The taste was really good, but I couldn’t get by the TEXTURE of them. The ones I had were just.... they were weirdly grainy? And sandy like? I don’t know, the insides that is. I didn’t like it. I’ve had other types of chocolate coated insects and stuff and not minded them - but not the ants. Nope.
