I’m not feeling particularly well today, but I still wanted to do something.
Pairing: Sweden x France
I watched the live action Beauty and the Beast the other day in Swedish with English subtitles on, and it was comedical in some places. So yeah, that’s my inspiration here XD
Watching Disney Plus in Swedish with English subtitles was a mistake. Or, rather, watching the live action Beauty and the Beast was. Francis groans loudly; it’s only a few minutes into the movie, and there’s been two instances of the subtitles annotating that French was being spoken, and not the words directly. “Is this a Swede thing?” Berwald chuckles next to him, shrugging a bit. The larger man wraps an arm around Francis’ waist and gently squeezes. He sighs, half in annoyance and half in content, then snuggles into his love. “You know, your people do horrible French accents.” Berwald laughs softly and pecks Francis’ forehead.
“I kn’w.” The Frenchman throws a hand on his forehead dramatically.
“Oh, Mr. Sweden, can you do any better?” Berwald shakes his head, not taking his eyes from the screen. Francis lets out a little puff of defiance, then goes back to a more comfortable position. Berwald glances at him out of the corner of his eye to check he’s not actually upset, and can’t help but smile at the grin gracing his lips. “I see that.”
“Mmhmm.” He smiles broader, turning to face the other man on the couch. He leans in to kiss his cheek, but Francis turns at the last moment for a kiss on the lips. It’s something they do often, and have conversed and given consent for. He laces his fingers in Berwald’s hair, deepening the kiss. He yanks away when he hears Lumiere speak for the first time.
“What!?” Berwald has to choke down his laugh. His reaction, his expression, his slightly ruffled hair, his wrinkled shirt, everything about the moment is hilarious. Francis rolls his eyes, shaking his head as he turns it. At least the character design makes up for the atrocity the Swedes have done to his accent.

“Je t’aime, Francis,” Berwald mumbles at the end of the movie, in his best French accent, thinking the man is asleep. He flushes crimson when he smiles brightly.
“jag älskar dig med, Berwald.” He brushes their noses together lovingly. “Now, let’s watch a movie in French with English subtitles this time.”
