I love sufin, but i hate how static and lovey dovey they’re portrayed in most fanfics. This is a relationship between a once european great power that stood up to denmark various times and fought dozens of wars, and the land it conquered for centuries that despite this managed to maintain its own culture and fight the odds against it to become independent and actually thrive on its own. It can’t be that simple to love a guy when you were his colony for so long
