Same. I mean, I guess I can see how it opens up the possibility of going back to fill in the gaps in plot that appear in the film or the show, but if it is really that necessary to clear up confusion, then the movie couldn't answer the questions on its own and couldn't be very good, so why even bother watching that?

Maybe it's just the quality of some of the ones I've read in the past that turn me off to the idea as a whole...
