hexenzsene replied to your post “i don’t understand the concept of “vibes”. like, how can someone “give...”
i think it's like the energy they give off, and the gut feeling you get from them? clothes/expression/attitude/your own biases/etc play a part. like getting bad vibes from somebody because of small nuances they give you and then later finding out they dont like you or whatever. sending good vibes is just like giving your warm wishes so i guess it's doesn't do any good but it's a friendly expression...
aaaah, i don’t understand “energy” either, and i don’t think i’ve ever experienced a gut feeling. i’m autistic and my natural pragmatic/social communication skills amount to zilch, so my entire understanding of human social interaction is based on these generalized probabilistic models i’ve created in my head based on observation and past experience and i use them like flow charts to reason out the most likely way someone is thinking/feeling based on a behavior i can identify, and what response is expected of me or would work best for the situation based on that. but there’s a lot of behaviors i can’t identify at all, like facial expressions, gaze, body language, and tone of voice. so when certain judgements about people are based in these very nebulous concepts and no one can seem to identify the exact components it’s really frustrating to me because i don’t have a clue what the people around me are talking about. i appreciate the explanation though! and the stuff about well wishes makes sense, so that’s one little mystery solved!

have you actually heard that DJ Sprinkles album? I've had it downloaded for a bit and am hoping to get to it soon because I hear it's REAL good

I made that comment before scrolling down and seeing all the extra posts you made about this album, forgive me
lol no worries! To answer you completely, Jared gave that album to me like a yearish ago and I’d forgotten about it until the other night when I picked it back up. I’m going wild for it now, I like it more every time I hear it and it was already looking to rank in my favorites as-was.
hexenzsene I’ll tag you since you might not see this otherwise idk if you’re Tumbling at this moment
14, 17 & 23!
14: A song that you would love played at your wedding
Hm! What an interesting question. This prompt is making me go to love songs, which I’ve historically had trouble identifying among my favorites; I kinda only really begrudgingly acknowledge that Digital Love is a love song and I don’t know how many other love songs I would really emphatically point to if I had a list of my favorite songs in front of me. I do know one but I want to save it in case someone asks me another one of these. Taking a little more time to think, I think I’ll go a little cliche and pick a Beatles song. I think Here Comes the Sun would be an appropriately lovely, warm song for the day, so I suppose I will go with that!
17: A song that would sing a duet with on karaoke
I definitely remember answering Borne on the FM Waves of the Heart the last time this popped up, so I will think of another this time. Just because it’s on my mind and because I think it’s a goofy choice, as much as no karaoke machine on Earth would ever have it, I think I’ll pick Come Again by Au Pairs. It’s basically a post-punk duet about dudes sucking at sex, like imagine Business Time without the irony almost. It’s scathing and awkward and brutal and it’s one of the funniest non-comedy songs I’ve ever heard, and I think that’s exactly the kind of duet I want to have with someone.
23: A song that you think everybody should listen to
FUCK this one was hard last time too. Uh! I went with September last time, which is still an answer I’m happy with, but I’ll come up with something else this time. The criteria I kinda wanted to stick to is something I think a lot of people would really love but not something so popular that picking it would sorta be a lost cause. So! How about He Can Only Hold Her by Amy Winehouse? The only song of hers I’ve ever heard anyone who isn’t already a fan of hers reference is Rehab, which, although a great song, is really dwarfed by essentially all of the rest of Back to Black, and this song in particular. I think Rehab being her huge hit kinda pigeonholed her in the popular consciousness and I think more people knowing this would really broaden what people understand her range to be.
Thanks as always, Mitch!!
have you read the wicked + the divine / what do you think of it if you have? from the limited amount of comic knowledge i have, it seems like we have just about opposite opinions on everything, so i'd like to know what you think of this one that i ADORE
only gotten to check some of it out. so i can’t speak much to the comic, but more to gillen himself
i think gillen can be good, but he’s got a terrible habit of getting sucked up his own ass in metacommentary, but in a different way than morrison. his YA run showed a lot of this, which spent less time fleshing the characters out, giving them good dialog and team intracommunication, and more nudging the reader going “get it? hey, get it? do you get it yet”. wasn’t helped by mckelvie’s good but intentionally very stiff pop art style which made a lot of scenes colder than they should’ve been
songs that start with V
RIGHTEOUS
Viva la Vida by Coldplay
Valerie by Mark Ronson ft. Amy Winehouse
Vena Cava by Lady Lamb
VCR by the xx
Viridian Genesis by Anamanaguchi
Thanks Mitch I can always rely on u
