Fanart for my favorite story on Wattpad called “Vivid” by @xmonochromexbluex
I was able to finish this drawing thanks to winter break and the ablitiy to actually sit down at nights. I’m not entirely satisfied by this. I would have been if I just stopped at the boy and tiger. But ah well, my next drawing will be better.
(Songs: y tho. - Lucid, Evanescence - Imaginary, Breaking Benjamin - Failure)
I just realised we have very similar headcanons for how Hexers become Hexers. In my verse Hexers are people who were neglected and abused to the point of going to a dark place in their heads and striking back. It seems in your verse they have to come close to death? Man that's dark...
Actually, in my world Hexers have to literally die to gain their skills. For a second or even a minute. The only way to gain the full powers of a hexer, to gain access to the curses and hexes, is to die and to come back from the other side. Either by a medic or healer being able to pull them back after their heart stops, or by use of a ritual.
Two types of hexers exist - the unwilling one, where they died from either an accident, or were so lost in their own pain that they took their own lives, or was used as an offering in a ritual. They had no intention of becoming hexer but became one because fate can be cruel or offering them a second chance. They are often airy, spacy even. They don’t remember much of their ‘previous’ life, only glimpses from dreams. The ones who took their lives are usually more sullen and highly critical of themselves, seeing this as further punishment. Or they see it as a strange second change. Whatever their beginnings, they tend to keep to themselves or attach themselves to someone they are safe and familiar with.
The second kind is the one that willing turns themselves into a hexer for a purpose. Either in a vain attempt at immortality, or for revenge against their enemies, or for the greed of power. These kinds of hexers are wildly unpredictably, mentally unstable, and incredibly violent. They willingly use their skills to hurt others and to get what they want.
…It really is quite dark isn’t it? ^^;
I don't know, somehow these outfits capture their vibes

Based on Witches from Madoka Magica, i used to calle these monsters "Wiccans" originally, but have since changed the name for obvious reasons. They also didnt really have an origin story, so i made that here too.
Hexers - Creatures of Voodoo created through Large outputs of any emotion, similar to Tulpas. They can set up their own subspaces to inhabit which have energies themselves that can spawn other kinds of creatures, such as "Friends", Corrupted and Mojo Monsters in the surrounding area. Their behavior is commonly dependant on what emotions spawned them, but there are exceptions and they can be tamed. They can obviously cast various magics and are magic proof to boot, making them sought after by others for varying purposes, most of which are unsavory. Almost all of them have ribbons and pointed hats, and they are typically severely weakened when they both are destroyed.
