GUESS WHAT SEASON IT ALMOST IS?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?! 

I’m trying to be patient, but it’s almost time to try pairing Hex and Voodoo again! So far this passed year, Voodoo has gotten so much more confident, at least about being out and about in his enclosure when we’re around, so I’m hoping that will help him face Hex. Last year, he gave it a good try, but ended up terrified and never actually managed to lock up with her.

I think I’m going to pair them at the end of this month or maybe next. BUT SOON.

Well. Hex is still deep in shed and Voodoo is still enjoying the hell out of her enclosure 😂 BUT. A slight development? Possibly? (these photos are from this morning) he's been hanging out in the water bowl off and on, which is not usual for him, but it IS where she usually ends up while in shed, and when I got home I found Hex out of her humid hide for the first time since pairing them and some, uh, Spunky surprises in the water. This obviously doesn't mean that they've locked, but at least Voodoo is showing interest. Hopefully he'll woo her this year 🐍💕

Thank you!!! I’m really excited about it too, this has been a dream of mine for a long time now lol You know how normal people get excited and prepare ahead of time for their children? That’s how I am with these unborn, not even conceived, potential neonates lmao I already have everything I need, save for individual enclosures. I have hides, water bowls, substrate, moss, fake greenery (bought with the money graciously donated to my kofi btw), heat tape and thermostat, extra hygrometer/thermometer, and two temporary enclosures where they’ll go immediately after birth. Literally all I need is the individual enclosures for after they're separated away from each other, which will be a week or so after they’re born so I figure instead of going and buying thirty tubs now I’ll just wait and see how many I actually need before buying them since I can literally get them just down the street. And of course I need to set it all up, but there’s nothing pressing about that, since IF Hex ends up gravid, I still have months before I have babies.

So yeah. I’m fuCKIN G READY GIMME THOSE ORANGE SHOE STRINGS

I’ve paired them up, but so far they’re completely ignoring each other :\ It’s only been three days though lol plus Hex is going into shed. And Voodoo isn’t cowering in a corner all day and night like he was last year. The season is early. I’m not losing hope yet.
