“The cabin should be straight up ahead!” Bucky shouts, pointing a hand forward just in case Steve couldn’t tell what direction he’s taking them in.

Steve’s teeth chatter when he nods thanks to how hard he’s shivering, but it’s enough to get Bucky to turn back around and keep trudging on, slow, but steady through the thick blanket of snow still falling around them. He’s so distracted by the numbness that’s saturating down to what feels like his bones that it takes a good ten seconds for Bucky’s statement to truly sink in. Did he just say they’re going to a cabin?

Steve shivers again, this time for a different reason than just the cold. A cabin. It’s been a long time since he stayed in one of those.

(alternatively: yet another stranded in a cabin fic but this time it takes place during civil war)
