I had a dream that a friend and I were talking to Joseph Heller on a black-and-white TV, space ghost-style; he said something about 'figuring out his characters through conversation' so we told him that if we had our pick of fictional guys to converse with Yossarian would be a favorite. He seemed very touched by this but then covered it up by showing us a slice of 5-dollar pizza, ripping it apart like a monster, dipping the crust in some kind of artichoke-honey-meat sauce and saying 'this is Yossarian's favorite food.'
The one smart move I was willing to give the writers credit for wasn’t even their decision lol
I did genuinely love this from that same interview
