It’s just - there is so much background on Aisha that could have been used to fit Straffi/Young/Netflix’s “mature series” concept.
Everyone treats Aisha like this delicate princess when she’s a child except for her best friend Anne - the only girl her age who treats her like a person - who ultimately moves away and leaves Aisha with no one until she meets the Winx. Her parents attempt to force her into an arranged marriage through an old law she never thought they would actually enforce. She has a dislike for all this royalty BS but does not waste a second before going to help her people during S3. She cares about her family even though they’re far more conservative than she appears to be.
It’s this internal struggle of wanting to be true to yourself verses giving that up to protect your planet/kingdom at large, and that’s a theme that can be done in children’s and adult media. Aisha’s struggles are so relatable, more relatable than sleeping in a fucking abandoned warehouse every night because you don’t want to hurt your parents, and it was right there to use in the series but this writing staff was just like “nah not for me thanks” and I HATE IT
