Broken hammock hack! (😲 OMG, I used the word hack. Just shoot me.) I worked a little #redneckingenuity for my beloved @pawleysislandhammocks hammock in the form of zip ties and two scavenged spreader bars saved from an old rope hammock that fell apart. Just sandwiched the broken spreader bar in-between them and threaded zip ties through the holes. My original intent was to restring the ring knot through one of the spare spreader bars as a replacement (you know, the right way?), but the knots proved too difficult to undo even using two pair of needlenose pliers and I wasn't down to spend $30 on a new ring knot. This was Plan B! We had three 100-piece packs of zip ties in the closet, so this cost me nothing. zip tie is supposed to be able to withstand 50 pounds of tensile weight, so I think I'm set. 😂 If it lasts one season, I consider it a boon. . . . #summer #pawleysislandhammock #necessityisthemotherofinvention #hammock #redneck #thinkoutsidethebox #zipties #makingdo #cobbledtogether #heyitworks
