I have a year off before uni and I won't get the chance to travel as much as I want to. What are some other ways that I can make this year memorable.
hey! travelling is definitely not the only way to make your gap year memorable. one thing you can do is work. find a part-time or full-time job that you’ll enjoy and get stuck into it. you’ll be able to save up a lot of money and invest that for travel in the future if that’s what you want, or you can save up for other things. you’ll also be able to make some new friends through work! another alternative to work or something that you can do alongside it is volunteering. you’ll be contributing to the community and also learning new skills + experience that you’ll be able to put on your resume.
if you’re more into spending your gap year relaxing instead of working then make a bucket list of things you want to do now that school is over. i’ve created a post-hsc bucket list that has simple things such as having a movie marathon, reading books, going to places with friends etc. you’ll finally be able to binge-watch tv shows without feeling guilty about not studying! this is also the perfect time to pick up a new hobby. maybe you’ve been meaning to try out something for a while and never got around to it. there’s endless possibilities, for example, learning how to play a musical instrument, creating art, sports etc.
lastly, get anything that you haven’t gotten around to done. if you haven’t gotten your license yet, you’ll have heaps of time to sit the test and practise driving. rearrange or redecorate your room if you’ve thought about it but never did.
hopefully this helped! i think your gap year will be memorable no matter what. you’ll have a great time not having the pressures of schooling. relax and have fun, you deserve it!
send me asks!
