Welcome to HGTC!

I believe Horry Georgetown Technical College is a great place for high school graduates. HGTC is a two-year community/technical school that offers more than 80 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a University to pursue a bachelor's degree. Horry Georgetown Technical College is good for students who are ready to get in the workforce. HGTC offers 16 week program's, such as electrical linemen for phone and electrical companies. In 16 weeks you can become certified and employed. For students who plan on attending a university but lack the standards to qualify, HGTC prepares you for the university of your choice. For example, they give you the classes you need to build your GPA and credits you will need to transfer. For students that may live to far from campus, HGTC offers the students three campus locations in South Carolina. Not only does HGTC help you financially, FAFSA, but they provide you with some of the top study tools, tutors who will help you every step of the way, and teachers that will work with you during and after classroom hours. As a student, I can speak for the college by saying they have helped me in my journey by providing me the motivation, guidance and peers to make my college experience a very successful one. In conclusion, HGTC is the best option to continue your journey after high school and building your career.

How HGTC Students Use Social Media

693 students responded to a survey about social media habits and the integration of social apps with their classroom experience.

Playing around with a neat little web app, infogram. It allows you the ability to upload .csv files and visually display the data in unique ways. I still have more data and results to process and make sense of, but all this research is being compiled for a project about social media as a classroom tool in a 2-year college environment. I think social media has the potential to create a more cohesive community at community colleges, especially considering our unique demographic.
