High Hopes presents the Easter Charity Festival !! We are invited you all to join us in beautiful St. Martin of the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean. The weather will be hot, hot, hot so bring your short-shorts and parasails because we are hitting the beach for a good cause !! Everyone will be staying in luxury Esmeralda Resort for this event.
The festival will begin on April 12th with a welcoming brunch. All characters are required to be there at least the night before. The festival will then end on the 14th where there will be an concert as reward for everyone participating !! We will break down the entire trip with it’s mini events, requirements, and details below.
While in St. Martin, your characters will be sorted in the groups through random selecting. Each group will decide on which charity they would like to represent and will work together to come up with ways to raise money. We strongly suggest you create a group chat, get creative !! Make team names and think of what your various strength and weaknesses are! The day of hosting your donation schemes will be on Saturday, April 13th. Where all characters will have their booths, games, shows, meet & greets, whatever they come up with from 8am until 5pm. We expect to see posting about it both on the dash and on sideblogs !!
Groups will be posted a week in advance so you can plot !!

Please note that this is the times things are meant to be happening in rp time unless otherwise noted. We do not expect you to be posting on the dash throughout the day. We understand real life happens. This is to get an idea of what your characters may be doing!
April 12th Schedule:
7am - 1pm: High Hopes will be hosting a brunch for everyone at the resort.
After 1pm: Feel free to take part in whatever activities you wish !! Connect with your team, figure out your plans for making donations, and get to know one another. Please note, if there is a member of your team who is not properly participating let us know immediately. This is a required event, and skipping out on duties will result in activity warnings.
**Please note that by 10pm (US- Central) we ask you to please make sure the mod blog knows your team’s charity that they have chosen. If a team picks the same as another team, it will be treated as a first come, first serve basis. Please have more than one you are interested in just in case !!**
April 13th:
7-8am: Set up!
8am - 5pm: Charity Festival !! Your teams are welcomed to start up whatever they have planned. Check out each other’s booths and games! Make sure you’re interacting with fans and the locals. Cause a little drama and mayhem !! Whatever helps your cause.
5-6pm: Break down! Count up that cash!
8pm-Midnight: High Hopes will be hosting a Tiki Style party on the beach. Come out with your swimsuits and be prepared to dance! Bring the kiddos, we’ll have a safety net area in the ocean until it’s dark and games for them to play. Open bar and a couple volley ball courts will be open for some friendly competitions !!
April 14th:
Relax and enjoy your day up until 6pm where we will announce those who raised the most! The top 3 teams who raised the highest amount of money will have various prizes !!
How gaining money for Charity works for the event.
Now, for logistics.
So how this will work is your team will earn money both together and individually to complete tasks that will earn you certain amounts. High hopes will match this amount to help! Please tag any tasks you do with hh.task on sideblogs.
Ex: Team A raises $100 through tasks, their actual total will be $200 !!
Group Tasks: (aka an easy $100 to make -most of these we only need to see one member have proof of. Having you all do it however, is fine.)
Having a group chat. Prove everyone is in the chat via photos - 25$
Creating a team name. Make it the group chat name - 25$
Choosing a charity on time. Just send to the mod blog - 25$
Designing a logo, poster, or one 5 song playlist for the team - 25$
Individual Tasks:

heads will roll at the famous roosevelt hotel come march 1st, with high hopes taking new york by storm with the opening of our first manhattan head office and our official reopening celebration. join us for three days in the big apple, with all expenses paid and luxury the top priority.

each of those invited will have a suite at the central park viewing ritz-carlton hotel, with suits accommodating up to four people over two bedrooms. all expenses are taken care of, with some of the best restaurants in the area on tab for all those from high hopes. for those of you with children who are attending, there is also a top of the line daycare on the books.
on the night of march 3rd, all members are invited to the roosevelt hotel, were we will be holding an event we have dubbed “the phoenix ball”. we are celebrating our resurrection here at high hopes, and we would like you all to join us to celebrate this occasion. there will be an open bar, an open dance floor, and your first open opportunity to meet and mix with our wide range of clients.
on the 3rd, we will be having a members only game of bgo, starting at 7pm est. for those of you who cannot be involved, we will also be hosting a gh game starting at 9pm est. our gossip blog will also be hosting a game of two truths and a lie: quotes edition on march 4th, with that game opening at 7pm est. this event is mandatory for all members.

MUGGLE PRIME MINISTER MURDERED: Minchum suspects Death Eaters
At 1:32 AM, on August 10th the Muggle Prime Minister and his wife were found dead in their home along with several of their personal security guards. It’s believed that around midnight unknown intruders entered the premises and began attacking the constables as they made their way to the Prime Minister. The causes of death are being investigated by a branch of the muggle government called the Ministry of Defense Police. As of right now they have declined making a formal statement, however they have revealed that there were some survivors of the attack. Their conditions are unknown to us at the current time.
Prime Minister Minchum has released his own statement on the matter: “From our investigations it has been confirmed that the attack on the muggle Prime Minister and others were killed and harmed by unknown witches and wizards. This is a blatant violation of the International Statue of Secrecy, and the culprits will be pursued with the utmost diligence of the ministry. This siege was clearly a direct result of building tensions growing within the wizarding community, most likely as a ploy to scare many. But remember this, those who use terrorism to silence others will not go unpunished.”
As you know, it is canon that the muggle Minister is aware of the wizarding world through a very old tactic and tradition carried about by the Ministry of Magic. This is classified information and his death should result in those who work for the Ministry losing trust in the Ministry’s abilities. However, this plot drop causes more strife for our pureblood, muggleborn, and Death Eater characters. All Death Eaters were involved in this crime in a variety of manners such as the following to help the Dark Lord kill the Minister himself:
infiltrating the Ministry of Magic for information on security
infiltrating Ministry of Magic security
breaking into classified sections of departments
sneaking into the muggle Prime Minister’s headquarters to get information on security and location
distracting aurors with other crimes
Muggle families of muggleborns should all be worried but slightly confused, aurors should have a wavering trust in those they answer to and brushes with violence, and St. Mungo’s should have more than a few new patients.
