Everyone treating Nifty like she's their wayward child in an emergency situation is 10/10
Obligatory updated birthday portrait.
Vaggie's life is wild. Girl went from a heavenly supersoldier to sleeping in the same bed as her gf before marriage in three years. She VAULTED those trauma hurdles.
You gotta admit, as far as punishments go, this is a doozy. Forcing a man to govern the people who misuse what you gave them. It's destroyed him from the inside out and left nothing behind. He has no passion. He doesn't care if they burn and die.
But that's the thing, isn't it? It was Lucifer's punishment, but Charlie... Charlie's never known anything else. She was raised in Hell. She doesn't see this place as a punishment. She sees it as her home and her people. And she loves them! She loves every single person in Hell. No matter how gruesome their crime, they are loved by Charlie.
And Lucifer can't imagine understanding that. He can't. Loving her mother was almost enough to kill him.
This is so petty, but it's also so fucking funny to me. Alastor hated Lucifer so much that he decided, in an instant, that he was gonna be Charlie's dad. Because he can't take those words back- Charlie is part of his plan-and Alastor knows that, but he decided to do it anyway.
I can just hear his thought process: "well, it seems I've garnered an heir today! A lovely pawn for my plans." ENTIRELY to fuck over Lucifer.
And Charlie, lovely girl she is, seriously considered being the daughter of a serial killer cannibal because it got her shoulder pats.
Of course, Charlie is everything he's wanted in a daughter. That's the bonus of all of this. She's powerful, she's devoted, and she cares. He can play her emotions like a fiddle. He knows she won't turn her back on this hotel. And being the bio child of Lucifer means she's got a whole bank of repressed power he could definitely use for himself.
He's not lying, for once. Charlie is literally everything a man like him could want in an heir.
It's interesting that Vaggie is the one to recommend Lucifer be involved. She's never met him! And there's a very real fear he might out her as a fallen angel. It's a wild way to meet the future FIL.
It shows just how much she cares about the hotel.
I wasn't super big into the Vaggie angel theory until this very moment, personally. Vaggie'll do most anything for Charlie, and to have her try and chicken out of visiting Heaven? Yeah that was SUS.
