“H-hey Val! I brought you a didgeridoo!”, Lance sputters nervously, handing the instrument over to Valentino and playing with his fingertips anxiously

“Ahw thank you, cariño!”, Val responds, walking away to stare at the didgeridoo after setting it on the ground. Lance stays behind, blushing wildly as he walks over to Sir Pentious to vent

“I just don’t KNOW Penny! I’m willing to KILL for him to just look in my direction!”, he cries, gesturing widely as he collapses into Pent’s arms

“I’d ssssay you get along ssssssswell!”, Pentious exclaims encouragingly

He and Lance both watch as both Twilight Sparkle and Lucifer hurry over to Val, red faced and scrambling.

Lance snarls, “freaks. I ought to make ‘em into a human centipede…”

“Letssssss not be to hassssssty, Lancsssssssssse… you don’t want to end up like Katie Killjoy…”

“Who?”

“What?”

Okay, I... know the ending to this chapter probably isn't satisfactory to some people. That they expected Betty to have to work towards being accepted back and for Pentious to be more hurt, rather than just sadly resigned to his fate and later relieved that things worked out. To that I just want to say... it's not time to explore those feelings YET.

I stand 10 toes down on the opinion that it's not unreasonable to freak out at the insinuation that your partner might've been a morally gross person so I don't think Betty was wrong for that, and she did the best thing she could've considering her emotions at the time - the other option was to say all those thoughts she had out loud which WOULD'VE hurt him, possibly irreparably. It's just that the fears were unfounded, but Betty didn't know that. That was the journey of this chapter, her realizing that he's not the monster she was scared he might've been.

Hence why it culminates not in apologies from either side, but in her opening up to hearing him out and learning the whole truth. And what she did learn is that he was not a perv - just a lonely guy desperately yearning for crumbs of human connection. A guy who chose to be honest with her and not regret it even at the risk of losing it all. Who understood that she needed time to process, especially since he insisted on confessing in the first place to give her an informed "out" in case she needs it, and even through his own anxieties and fears, loyally stayed put for her because his hope for her return was stronger than that.

There IS some leftover pain to be addressed - but that's what couples' counseling is for. So get ready for the ✨THERAPY ARC✨, beginning soon.

When Charlie tells everyone about Sir Pentious being in heaven, everyone is shocked but happy with the news until they hear Jax whisper, "Redemption is real…? "

Soon a chuckle escapes him, escalating into a full-blown laugh, capturing the attention of everyone around him.

“I can't believe that it's REAL!!!” he exclaims.

The purple sinner started rolling on the ground, completely overtaken by a hysterical, uncontrollable fit of laughter as if someone had just told them the funniest joke ever.

Concerned, Charlie approaches the frenzied rabbit and asks, “Jax? Are you… okay?”

Tears stream down his face as he continues to laugh maniacally.

But soon, his mirth transforms into anger as he slams his fists onto the floor.

"No, I am not okay!"                                                   

"You come here and tell us…"        

"You…"                       

"You have to be lying.”                                           

“You have to be!"

Before anyone can respond, Jax continues his rant. "How do we know if this so-called angel is telling the truth?!”

"I mean, come on, all you need to do to get into heaven is to sacrifice yourself for your friends.”

"Then why?!"

"Why didn’t…?"

His words hang in the air, leaving an unsettling silence, a few knowing full well what he was too scared to truly ask.

Jax would probably feel more guilt about Ribbit's death, probably believing that the reason they weren’t redeemed was because they saved him.

I love it!

This scenario is amazing because it raises a question that I was frustrated no one seemed to ask.

If sacrificing yourself for another was all it took, why weren't there any redeemed sinners before Pentious? There are families, friends, romances and children in Hell, and surely no one was truly prepared for the Very First Extermination. Are you seriously suggesting that out of the millions that were slaughtered in the past seven years, not one person had risked their own safety to save a friend or loved one?

Do you need to DIE in order to ascend?!
