1.With a big enough fish (or long enough meat), yes she can choke. As for WHY she’s swallowing whole fishes: it’s an annual cultural appreciation thing for her ancestors who hunt/swallow fishes whole when food is scarce.

2. In the event of an airborne viral pandemic(I mean haha as if that would happen right-): yes, her kind would need to wear special neck gaiters to fully cover all oral/nasal openings to be safe. But in lesser events such as haze/dust storms, a typical facemask would suffice for them.
