So....we saw Hubert's reaction to Caspar's death. How about Caspar's reaction to Hubert's death? :3c (Bonus points if Hubert died protecting him)

FIRST OF ALL HOW DARE YOU, SECOND OF ALL HOW D A R E Y O U

I had to scream for like a minute just to get all my feelings out but HMMMM

Caspar just feels n u m b for a good while after, a complete husk of his former self. He barely eats, barely sleeps, barely does anything. He's stuck agonizing over what he could've done, how he wasn't fast enough, wasn't strong enough, how his failure led to Hubert's death-

After the initial numbess, he ends up throwing himself into training. But no longer does he excitedly shout when he wins a sparring match, or laugh and ask for a rematchv when he loses. He rarely speaks at all, actually. His voice constantly seems to be stuck in his throat whenever he even tries. He doesn't even yell out during battle anymore.

(Sometimes, sometimes he'll forget. Sometimes there will be a faint scent of coffee in the air, or he'll see a flash of black out of the corner of his eye. Without fail, he'll run after it, words of apology on the tip of his tongue-

Then he'll remember, and he'll freeze in his tracks, his throat clogging up again.)
