One of my dear, dear friends is doing an experiment in creative academic writing and I had the great honour of beta reading her work. In her own words: When confronted with a piece of literature, especially in an academic context, we have grown used to approaching it in specific ways. Instead of retracing these steps, Shapes of Pemberley aims to explore a well-loved novel from a new angle: From that of a transformative writer. Shapes of Pemberley is an amazing transformative piece of fiction (hello, dragons) and you should all go read it (did I mention there are dragons?).
