I think Shane would be way more of a possessive and protective mf than people think he'd be

He stays near Ilya like a body guard whenever they go out in public, especially in bars. His eyes are constantly sharp and calculating, only softening when Ilya turns to him

Someone goes to make a move on Ilya and Shane wraps his arm around his husband's waist as tightly as humanly possible, dead staring at anyone who tries

He's sharply correcting any reporter that doesn't say Ilya's full name or reminding them that Ilya is HIS husband.

He answers questions for Ilya when the reporters are being idiots too

He's replying to tweets thirsting after Ilya in the most deadpan and borderline threatening responses

If there's an event they have to go to with a lot of people, he's sucking marks into Ilya's neck as dark as he can get them in the most visible spots

He makes sure Ilya's wedding ring is visible in every picture taken

He gets into more fights on the ice than he has in his entire career, laying out anyone who decides to talk shit about Ilya, or the gods forbid, Ilya's mother.

Shane is a possessive, protective, no bullshit person for his husband and he's proud of that shit
