One thing that really saddens me amongst the rise of gen ai (aside from y'know, the planet on fire) is that I know if this had all happened when I was a child I would've gotten so addicted to it. I was the little kid in the late 2000's/early 2010's who could spend hours on Google search just thinking of random questions and looking at images. I loved reading and learning so much and when I didn't have a library book or a pencil and paper I'd be on google exploring all the weird questions an eight year old has (oldest cat ever, why is the sky blue, mlp voice actors list, etc.). If you'd given little me access to gemini, it would actually be so over. Makes me wonder how many little nerds and artists and writers are melting their brains with this shit when they're way too young to understand the consequences.
