Tainted - Ch. 14 (Snippet)
Hello guys! I back... again... after a year. Actually I’ve wrote chapter 14 a while back but I stopped right in the middle so I never updated Tainted. I’ve only began to write it again recently so I guess I can say that it’s almost done? I still have to overlook it for grammar and spelling, so it will probably take some more time, but I promised to update Chapter 14 before this year ends! Thank you to everyone who’s been patient. Thank you for always patiently waiting for a new chapter! I love you all!! (Tainted)

Neji inhaled a deep breath, staring at the big town in front of him. Finally, he mentally assured himself. This has to be it, Hinata has to be here in this town.
“Neji.”
“I know,” the male replied, his eyes narrowing at the familiar man walking towards him and the other two. Many things ran through his mind as the dark haired male made his way across town to them.
“We meet again, Hyuuga-san.” Sasuke said, more of a statement than a greeting. He intended to make Neji know that the three were unwelcome in his town and that they were being watched over by his people.
“Don’t look down on us.” Hoheto retorted, offended by the man. Neji set his arm over the male’s chest as if stopping him from launching on to the Uchiha. Instead, he stepped up forward, challenging the taller male, and smirked.
“I see that you have been expecting us,” he spoke. “Is this a coincidence? Or does it mean something?”
Sasuke tut in response. He reminded himself to write Neji’s name down in his memo book for the ‘Dangerous People I Need to Keep an Eye on’ as they continued to have a stare-down. He held himself back from making a scene right then and there knowing that it wouldn’t do anyone any good. It was only a matter of time when Naruto found out that his unwanted guests were in town, therefore, he went against his intentions. After all, he knew Neji didn’t want to fight as well.
“I’m merely doing my job,” Sasuke replied, smirking back at the male. “Many intruders come and go in my town, and it’s my duty to stop them when I see one.” He accused, his smile long gone now.
Neji’s eyes narrowed, his smirk gone as well. He hated that Sasuke was taunting him, hated that he knew the male was hiding something but acted like he knew nothing. His fist tighten, ready to start fighting if Sasuke just said something stupid again. And he nearly did. He stepped forward when the Uchiha’s mouth opened to say something, but stopped as soon as he heard a different tone of voice.
“Sasuke-kun.”
Neji calmed down instantly, he let loose of his fist and turned his head towards the perpetrator. The first thing he saw was pink hair, lots of it, then he saw green eyes, and lastly, the person that had called the Uchiha’s name. His body stiffened up at the sight of the girl, not wanting to cause a commotion in front of her, or anyone else that were around them.
She walked over to the group of men, her eyes darting back and forth from Neji to Sasuke. The two sensed she knew what was going on, therefore, stopped them by acting oblivious to the whole thing. She smiled faintly at Sasuke after coming to a stop beside him then turned her head to face the three males.
“Hello guys, sorry to interrupt but I need to get this big guy back to the base,” she stated, still smiling. She pulled the taller male by the arm, gesturing him to move with her and they began walking away. Neji didn’t think much of her until she turned her head around to them, smiling again, “By the way, welcome to Konoha.”
