Explainer: A while back I posted HERE how a group from the film The Warriors had a subliminal impact on our design of French Twist from Mucha Lucha!

This inspired a brilliant take from @mars--madness ...

So with Mars' kind permission, I've appropriated the design for the Hi-Hats. As Mars says 'It's French Twist...but he'll steal your lunch money' :D

The French (Twist) Connection

Okay, so anyone designing a mime character with the name 'French Twist' HAS to reference the great Marcel Marceau. But there was another subliminal influence for the character I remembered last night re-watching 'The Warriors'.

Growing up BI (Before Internet) the world was a big, big, place. Anything beyond the confines of my suburb in the middle of nowhere - especially in mythical, big bad New York City - was truly scary and foreboding.

The Warriors, with its story of NYC gangs was one of these things. Now, I can see it for what it is: a great, live-action cartoon with a great story, great characters, fabulous cinematography, great soundtrack and great acting. I absolutely love it.

But back to French Twist. These guys - the Hi-Hats - HAD to be in the back of our minds when we designed him right? Right?

From what I heard about Riot Games right now, it deserves to have its games pornographically degraded, in my honest opinion.

Riot Games™ is a hell hole.

BUT it is No Nut November so we will say “Fuck Riot Games” but please do not actually fuck Riot’s games
