unfortunately i'm currently attempting to catch up with all my oc reference sheets but if i have any time before artfight I'll be happy to do so! tysm for the request! ^^
my ocs currently staring at me like this
Ayyo Halloween may almost be over for me, but that isn't gonna stop me from rambling about Thomceit looking after their kiddo Jake and giving him the best first Halloween he could ask for and everyone helping, so let's go- (as to how he became THEIR kiddo.... that's a tale for another day-)
(Also I feel like this is gonna read like a fic,,, it's not- I just talk a lot- so you have been warned sjdhsjdhs)
They weren't really gonna do anything for Halloween this year- Thomas had already made the video and was getting ready to post it, and Janus is just...... well, Janus. He's just... Halloween- /hj
But then lil' Jake is playing in front of them as they relax (shocking, I know) a few days before the day itself, and hears them talking about it and asks 'Daddy, Papa, what's Halloween?'
It then hits them that Jake doesn't actually really know what it is and has never experienced it in full, so they explain and once they finish he starts rambling about how fun it sounds and how he wishes he could take part in it
And what do they do? Take one look at each other- nod- and they've communicated their first thought to each other:
'Go All. Out.'
We're talkin' decorations, pumpkin carving, making toffee apples, trick or treating, and- of course- costumes, the whole lot!
Unfortunately, this is WAYYYY too big of a task for them alone to handle- so they get to plannin' with some help!
They enlist Roman and Remus to find decorations to use/make to help decorate- though they tell them (mostly Remus) to not go too overboard, they don't wanna scare the lil' guy-
Virgil is in charge of finding some good Halloween films to watch on the day, Patton sets out the sweets for trick or treating (and potentially sneaks a few-), Logan takes care of the pumpkins to carve and Thomas sets to making toffee apples and some spooky treats!
Now, most of those seem like they could be done on the day, right? Why did this need extra planning and why did it take several days? Here's the thing, Janus- being gay, a theatre kid, a fashion icon and an absolute dork- takes the liberty of making Jake his costume, with some slight help from Roman's Fairy Godmother.
When he goes to ask Jake what he wants to be for Halloween he says 'An astronaut!' which leads to this conversation:
Janus: But Jake you're already an astronaut!
Jake: No, I'm a crewmate, not an astronaut!
Janus: Sweetie, that's the same thing.
Jake: Nuh-uh- one of them has to run around and fix stuff, but I wanna be the one that just sits there floating! Space is very cool, but only if you're not running around to see it!
Janus: ...I'm raising you right.
So now Janus is spending days and nights making this costume after designing, fabric selecting, etc. (I headcanon he makes a lot of his own stuff being the fashion gay he is- the suits in SvS? All him babey-) and finally, FINALLY! After hours and hours of work, it's complete! A lil' spacesuit for their lil' astronaut! Now everything's done!
Once, the day rolls around, they all have a blast and Jake loves every second
He's adorable throughout all of it, examining all the decorations, making a mess with the pumpkins, enjoying some cookies and toffee apples, going trick or treating with his dads and then hiding under the blankets on the couch once the scary parts of the movies they watch when they get home come on- all in his costume made by his dad, and speaking of, he turns to his lover with a grin as he notices him looking very much in love:
Janus: You're giving me the look, what is it?
Thomas, mockingly wounded: You say that like it's a bad thing!
Janus, rolling his eyes fondly: Now I never said that
Thomas, laughing: I know ya silly serpent, I'm teasing! It's just... you did so much for him today. You spent hours making him that costume, and put so much effort in... I just find it so sweet that despite being a... a- slippery snake you still put in the effort to make him happy. You may dress like a Disney villain, but you've got the heart of a prince, even if you won't admit it
Janus, now looking at him softly but also with a very flushed face, trying to keep from lowkey squealing: ...Don't let Roman hear that.
Thomas: Janus!
Janus then starts to laugh as his boyfriend looks on exasperatedly (but lovingly) and wraps his arm around him and kisses him on the head
Janus: Oh you know I'm teasing, darling
Thomas, grumbling but fighting off a smile from the kiss: You better apologise later if he heard you
Janus, chuckling: I will
Jake then moves over and plops himself between them and then they all hug and watch films with the others and it's all very wholesome and cute and now I'm soft sjdshjdhs
Anyways I hope y'all enjoyed this!! It was fun to put down without actually having to write a full fanfiction (though I kinda did lol)
