I think winter is done teasing us with the warm start. It's a cold week in PA! the snow finally stopped at the day and the sun came out. This pic is at the sawmill - across the street from the founder's, Great Grammy and Great Poppy Hickman's farm house. #hickmanlumber #familybusiness #4generations #lumber #sawmill PS. When it's this cold and lumber is outside it is not air drying. All the water is frozen. Some companies say that they let their lumber air-dry for so many months and it makes the lumber better. This can sit outside and "air dry" for the next 3 months in this weather and the lumber won't be any drier before we put it into the dry kiln.

We had a nice dinner yesterday recognizing our employees. These guys have all been working for Hickman Lumber for over 20 years. Brian Hillard has worked the longest, 41 years! Pop Larry thanked everyone and commented how much they have all learned together over the years. Without these guys, and others over the years we wouldn't have the great company we have today. #hickmanlumber #companyparty #teamwork
