Let’s play ‘Find the Battery’
My friend had a dead car battery and needed a jump. Jumper cables in hand, I popped the hood of my Chevy Traverse.
We both stood there, staring into the engine compartment; the battery had to be in there somewhere. But it wasn’t.
So, I closed the hood of the Traverse and opened the hood of Sharon’s Impala. Eureka! A battery! So, we hooked up and accomplished the mission.
Later, I checked the Traverse’s owner’s manual and found no clue as to the battery’s whereabouts. I found six or seven pages about the vehicle’s infotainment system, but not a word about the location of the battery. It’s probably in there, but definitely not under “Battery” in the index.
So, I did what we all do these days; I Googled it.
Are you ready? The Traverse’s battery is under the floorboard of the rear seat, passenger side.
And - get this - you need a 15-mm. torque-head screwdriver to uncover it.
