That last comment is spot on!

High School series (based on Tegan and Sara) captures two things about being a lesbian so well. The first is utilizing sleepovers with your girlfriend, but also the fear of getting found out by your parents. I specifically felt the absolute panic of when Sara and Phoebe jump out of bed when Phoebe’s’mom walks in. The second is, not knowing if you are just friends with a girl or if she likes you when you’re discovering what it means to be gay. Like Sara is with Pheobe but she’s also kinda has a thing for Ali. And Tegan likes Maya but she also kinda likes Cass. They really show so well how the line between friendship and flirting is so confusing in the beginning.
