I kinda want to start reading comics that focus on Thor & Loki and the Asgardians, but I have I have absolutely no idea where to start. Do you have any particular recommendations? (Sorry if this is vague, feel free to be as specific or general as you like).
My personal favorite thor&loki comics are Matt Fraction’s the Mighty Thor, Journey into Mystery, and Agent of Asgard. When I first started reading comics, I started with Journey into Mystery with Kid Loki, so it’s a pretty easy comic to follow. Tho I would recommend that you maybe do some quick reading of the Siege comics since there’s a few things that could be confusing if u don’t have the prior knowledge. But other than that it’s a really great starter and i would highly recommend it!
Agent of Asgard follows JiM, and it’s mostly loki centric, but it’s wonderful and i love it omg
The Mighty Thor follows Thor on different adventures, so i wouldn’t consider starting with that one.
Now I haven’t read it (yet), but I heard Michael Straczynski’s Thor run is a really good place to start for beginners because it refurbishes the whole Thor universe. It’s very well written too, apparently, and has great art!
I hope this helped :o wherever you start, you can always branch off into different areas if you don’t mind being confused every once in a while haha, but that’s the nature of comics i suppose. Good luck with ur readings!!
since so many people seemed to dig my justified high school au here’s another blurb
“So, who wants to go first?”
Tim glanced up and met Principle Mullen’s stern and disappointed gaze; Tim felt like he was being scolded by a parent. Instead of answering he glanced to his left and took in the people who sat around him in the crowded office because even now he still had trouble believing the bullshit situation he had gotten dragged into.
Rachel sat next to him, looking cool and calm as usual. However, things were definitely not normal. Besides the fact that Rachel had never been in the principal’s office for anything other than praise and accolade, there was a large bruise that was beginning to form on her slightly swollen right hand. Another thing that just didn’t feel normal was the fact that whenever Tim looked at her, he felt annoyed, even angry. Sure, Rachel had annoyed him sometimes but she had never made him angry before. She was his best friend. It wasn’t right. However, thinking over the events of the past week, Tim couldn’t help but feel like his anger was justified.
In an attempt to smother the anger he felt, Tim focused on cataloging the rest of the lineup.
Next to Rachel sat Ava Randolph, fidgeting in her cheerleading uniform while she tried, and succeed, to look as innocent and sweet as possible; Tim had never spoken two words to the girl and was pretty sure that today was the first time they had ever been in the same room together. On the other side of Ava was a large guy by the name of Colton Rhodes who Tim was unfortunately more familiar with than he would like to be. He looked relaxed, which made sense, since he was in the same office every other week, usually with one or two members of his crew. Speaking of Colt’s crew, sitting next to him was none other than Boyd Crowder, the undeniable leader of his and Colt’s ragtag bunch of assholes. Tim had exchanged a couple of words with Boyd before and he found that every interaction he had with the slightly older student irritated him to his very core. Boyd also looked unruffled sitting in Principle Mullen’s direct line of fire; he spent a lot of time in the principal’s office but somehow he always seemed to manage to wiggle his way out of any seriously detrimental punishment. The last person in the lineup with none other than Raylan Givens; tall, conventionally attractive, popular, and also another person who spent an awful lot of time in the office. Before today Tim didn’t think that he and Raylan had ever exchanged more than a word between each other either but Tim got the feeling he wasn’t that bad of a guy. Sure, he was cocky, bit of a hot head, and too smart for his own good, but he usually got in trouble for standing up to Boyd Crowder’s bullshit, so he couldn’t be all bad.
“Okay, kiddies, the longer it takes for someone to talk the longer we’re gonna sit here,” Mr. Mullen explained as he moved his stern gaze down the line of guilty students. “So, how did this whole mess start?”
How did this mess start? How did Tim, who made it his mission to stay out of school drama and out of the public eye, manage to get dragged into a mess that included the likes of Boyd Crowder and Raylan Givens? For that matter, how the hell did Miss Valedictorian, graduating-a-year-early Rachel Brooks get involved?
Something like this wasn’t as easily explained as a fight breaking out in the middle of a school function. No, if Tim had to pick a real starting point for this mess, he would say that everything had gone to shit since the Bennett’s pre-school year party a week previous.
