i completely get it. the comics have been so dear to me since they first started so i’m just trying to see the comics and the show as two separate stories to not get too caught up in the differences. i just hope they don’t put her in a hospital bed for most of the time like she was in the comics in dallas
yeah, i’d like to see her take a more active role in the dallas storyline however that may appear, but it’ll be interesting especially since i’m assuming she won’t be paralyzed or have any sort of memory lapse (though it’s possible the white violin in the show could be considered a kind of mental blackout? idk). she could continue in a downward spiral as the white violin but it’s still hard to imagine this incarnation of the character becoming as angry and bitter as her comics counterpoint, especially without the paralysis which becomes a big piece fueling her frustrations in hotel oblivion after the whole apocalypse fiasco. there’s definitely a lot of story potential here which is exciting but i’m always just....Big Fear.

i never read the comics before i saw the show but now i wish they’d made her more angry and vengeful during the concert. i guess it was them trying to make them all seem more human but sometimes i’m like mr blackman PLS. and also, if i may, in this scene i think the interaction between i think klaus possessing/channeling hargreeves and vanya is really cool
they definitely did a lot of work trying to ground all the characters a little more but part of me will always think they went a little too far with it (then again, it obviously worked for them so maybe i’m just a big baby). and yes!!!! i love that scene!!! and the funniest part is is that klaus is unable to channel hargreeves at all, so he just dresses himself up in the old man’s clothes and simply acts his little ass off. that reveal is so great to me, but also adds a lot of context to how vanya viewed hargreeves and didn’t even question the illusion, even when klaus nearly breaks character:
“i can’t believe she fell for it” i mean, of course she did, she’s completely lost in a lifetime worth of repressed anger and insecurity to even question it. not to take anything away from klaus’ acting, i’d sure love to see him in interpretive dance.
