“My brother would tell me the same thing when I’d get bullied as a child,” she said, before precising ; “Doran, not Oberyn. Oberyn would just beat up the culprits,” she chuckled.
Being unnoticed had left Elia perfectly content. At least she would be left alone, and she still had her brother and one or two friends. Finding herself the source of all talks all of a sudden was kind of scary.
“Kids were jealous because I missed school, because apparently not being able to get out of bed and being taken to every doctor of the city when you’re nine years old is loads of fun.” Resentment seeped into her voice. She was having a hard time coming to terms with being chronically ill lately.
Elia felt her heart flutter as Rhaegar brought her closer. That was not right. She couldn’t be like all the girls falling for him, she couldn’t. They only liked him because he was, well, he was beautiful. She liked him because he.. because he was him.
“It’s kind of unnerving you know, when on the other hand Oberyn is so well liked. Always has been.”
