Book Review!
It has been a long time since I have written a blog. But since I have been at home for about 22 days now and just finished my homework for the week I have nothing to do! I have been reading a lot and I have two book series i would like to review!
Book Series one is Called “The Marriage Raffle” By: Stasia Black
This book Series is comprised of 5 books that all intertwine with one another. I bought the series as a set on my kindle so read it as one very long book. It takes place in Texas after a virus took out 95% of the women in the entire world. The united states went mad and had a war breaking the states into their own countries all being ran by their own president. It is safe to say that the rulers are not always good people and Texas was run by one of the worst. Not to mention Texas was run over by thieves, rapist, starvation, cannibals and so much more. There is a good part in this new world a small town guarded and trying to find some normalcy through all this. They hold a lottery whenever they find a new woman and she is willing. The lottery is for her to marry the 5 chosen men. Sure it isn’t ideal but in a world such as it is, its better than surviving out in the world alone. Each story is a chosen woman's story along with the point of view from her husbands. The books are not a happy go lucky story they are full of pain from the past, adventure in the present as the past catches up with them and a lot of sex. Honestly I skip over a lot of it as it gets to be a bit much. As you reach the last book things are shocking as the world gets really scary as it takes place in Texas it is a bit close to home. But in the end it has a happy ending and I wish there was more in the series.
The Next book series is called “Phoenix Rising Series” By: Quinn Arthurs and Harper Wylde
This series starts off with an 18 year old Nix from Florida. She has been abused all her life to a point where she died and came back to many times to count. She escapes her attacker and moves to Alaska to start a college she got a scholarship for. There she meets a group of shifters (part human that can turn into an animal that was born with them.) Nix finds out she too is a shifter and not just an shifter and almost extinct Phoenix. Her life is almost always under attack once she embraces her shifter side and finds mates in six men that share the same mark as her, destined soulmates. Her mates are also very rare shifters. This book series isn’t complete yet as it is only 5 books and the 6th is still being written. I read this series like an anime, I can best describe it as a combination of the anime “Ouran High School Host Club” and “Fruit Baskets”.
I can’t wait until the next one comes out. I still have a few more book reviews to do as I have been reading a lot lately. Until then I am off!
