there it is again. that taste of displeasure on her tongue.
lately, she’s been thinking that a friend of hers isn’t a friend at all. it’s the last thing that jessie wants to deal with; there’s too much nagging and desperation and not enough comfort for friendship. it’s more like something stifling, or being crammed into a room with too many people even if they’re alone and trying to have fun. read: cesca might be having fun. jessie has lost the ability to have it when she’s in the other’s presence.
“ are you really going to bitch about this again? you’re not my only friend. ” she’s not even her best friend. even jae doesn’t do shit like this, and he’s chaotic enough, crumbling at the seams even if he doesn’t seem to think so. truthfully, she’s tired of this. francesca’s constant whining whenever she goes out with someone who isn’t her, or even if jessie brings someone along on one of their outings is just so ... tiring. she’s tired. “ i don’t have to listen to this all the time, cesca. honestly? i shouldn’t have to listen to it at all. i’m not going to play this game with you anymore so, i’m done. we’re done. ” she’d rather cut the ties of friendship than to feel herself slipping away.
after all, jessie’s already been there, done that once - lost herself because of someone else. she won’t go through it all again.
