State-Run Fuel Retailers Raise Bid for Highway Village Project

Unlike the Highway Nest and Highway Nest (Mini), the Highway Village is proposed to be constructed on a land of 5 acres which will provide with amenities ranging from helipads, village hats, and motels to shopping malls, fuel stations, parking for vehicles, restaurants and food courts. Following the successful execution of the prior two projects, Mr Akhilesh Srivastava was confident that the development of Highway Village will boost the overall economic growth of the country.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava with the help of NHAI is executing the Highway Nest (Mini) across the major national highways.

The Highway Nest (Mini) is the first step of Wayside Amenities project which will provide basic city amenities such as drinking water, ATMs, restrooms, and packaged food, tea/coffee vending machine, etc. near toll plazas, alongside highways. NHAI CGM, Akhilesh Srivastava modifying the Indian Highways into a smart network by managing the construction of the NHAI’s cluster project called the Wayside Amenities (WSAs). This project was launched to improve the passenger’s experience on national highways and modernize highway infrastructure.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, has developed several roadside amenities, namely Highway Nest and Highway Nest (Mini). These amenities will house facilities ranging from eatables to petrol pumps and toilets.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, CGM (IT & Highway Operations) in NHAI, who was awarded the CIDC Vishwakarma Award at the 10th Vishwakarma Awards ceremony conducted by the (CIDC) for being the best public sector officer. He has taken some of the initiations which give an important place in highway modernization. Apart from these projects, he is also leading various other projects which are relating to roads and highway assets and traffic incident management.

The Road Assessment Management System is an important project that is being prioritized by Akhilesh Srivastava.

For the most part, every tolling plaza will have a designated FASTag lane for the Electronic Toll Collection. The incorporation of the same will effectively contribute to the initiative of smart highway management apart from the electronic traffic management which has already added another level of sophistication to the entire process. Shri Rohit Kumar Singh, Member (Finance) of NHAI is personally handling the entire rojectswith Mr Akhilesh Srivastava.
