Updates, Starters, Openings and More!

Hello friends!! Long time no 'point out how many trees there are in Havensdale', huh? We're so excited to begin our journey to re-opening and getting back into what we do best. And we have missed you all, dearly!!

So, let's start with the important stuff.

We are soft-launching from today, 26 December 2024 - which means you can now make posts, starters, plot and make any changes/updates you need to! There is no rush at all, take your time and we'll get right into come the plot drop (see below). We will be hard-launching with a PLOT DROP from 7 February 2025 which should give everyone enough time to come back, ease in, get sorted and learn how to use this ole Tungle we know and love.

When making starters, a wee reminder our tag is "hihstarter" and we ask that you put the location of your starter in the tags - this is just if you're ABOVE or BELOW ground!

The current IC-date is May 2017 and Havensdale has been 'under the dome' since June 2014, Founder's Festival.

We will be updating this as we go! If there's anything you'd like added, just send us a message.

As for updates!:

Oor Kayleigh will be updating our lovely theme and graphics and we'll announce when everything has been beautified!

All taken bios have been updated however there are a few open characters I'll be posting/working on during this time.

We'll also be updating our plot, supernatural creatures, application etc. pages.

As new blogs are made, we'll update the follow links and follow blogroll as well!

If you would like, you can still make a wee post recapping your character and tag "hihtimejump" and "hihrp".

However - all bios have been updated to reflect your characters journey to now so this is NOT mandatory!

Formative Influences

Who are your characters influences?

For example, which fictional characters have influenced your character? The ones that simply have the ~ vibes ~ for them. This can be a mix of characters that inspire you OOC or that your character adores! It can be someone IC (parent/celebrity/etc) or can be more general (i.e. were they a Barbie or Bratz girlie?).

Your post can be however long or short in any style (written list/with gifs/moodboard etc.), it’s just for a wee bit of fun as always!<3

Flashback, alert... It's the Montgomery Winter Ball, 1999 !

Let's take a step back in time for a fabulous night of fun, shall we? December, 1999. The Montgomery family are hosting their annual Winter Ball and for the first time, it's open to the entire town! With Esmé DeLisle taking a step back, this is the first event hosted solely by Felicity and Joseph Montgomery. Keen to cement their place as a pillar of the community, the Montgomerys have thrown open their doors for their most lavish, fun-filled, night yet! There will be music, dancing, endless food and drink, and don't forget the ice sculptures. So, throw on your glitziest outfit, bring along the whole family and let's celebrate this festive season in style. We can't wait to see you there!

OOC Information:

As a special holiday treat, we're throwing a #flashback event over December/January! We know it can both be such a busy time and also you have time off (thank gosh!) so as always, please don't worry about your activity.

You will be playing your characters young parents for this event! So, please do feel free to post a wee mini-bio/some bullet points about the parent you're playing (i.e their name/what they're doing in 1999/any connections). You can tag these with "hihparent" and "hih99".

We will post a "taken FC" list for the young parents so far! Please do message the main with your ideas and we can double check for you. It doesn't have to be a new FC, you can use your current character's too. As always, have fun with it!

Also, you can find most characters' birth years on their bio on the main so you can see what age your characters would be in 1999!

If any of your vampires might have been around in 1999, Havensdale then you're so welcome to have them particpate in the event as well.

You can start posting flashback starters from 26th December onwards. Please tag your starters/threads with "hih99". You can also continue your current threads as usual and the Flashback Event is optional!

Attention, Havensdalers!

Tonight is the Full Moon.

As we all know, the wolves roam freely and tend to cause more trouble than ever on the full moon. We strongly advise that you stay indoors tonight and leave plenty of time to get in before curfew. If you're not planning on growing a tail (or worse!), you don't want to be caught on the wrong end of one. Tonight, anyone who has been recently bitten, will turn for the first time. No ifs, buts, or maybes about it. Everyone else, has the choice to turn or not. We've had many, many, many full moons under the dome now, and we've got through every one without incident. Tonight will be no different. Tonight will be no different, right? And then, 30 minutes before curfew, the whole town SHOOK! It was as if the dome around Havensdale had violently shuddered, sending a shockwave throughout the town. Damage hit almost instantly. Homes, businesses, even the underground felt it. Debris blocked some doors, trapping those still inside. Tonight is a dangerous night to be on your own. Tonight is a dangerous night to be outside. Now, who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

OOC Information:

The full moon is here! Any freshly bitten werewolves will turn on this full moon. For every other werewolf, it is a choice! When the wolves are loose after curfew, whether they're in control or not, all bets are off. Usual rules apply - if you're inside your home, you're safe. If you're not, well - good luck.

Unfortunately, before everyone could get home before curfew, a magical shockwave shook the town - literally! This has caused damage and debris, trapping characters inside businesses or worse, out in the open.

Think about where your character is - are they stuck inside Sal's? Have they got trapped on their way home? Do they need rescued? This is an excellent opportunity to put together unlikely character pairings - who will your character get stuck with? Reach out to each other and/or make open starters, and go from there!!

The Underground will have felt the ripples from the town shaking above, but not as badly. There's been some damage near the entrance that we're working to move to get teams out to help. So, for any undergrounders, it's another WTF! day! You can also have your character make it out there, topside, to help.

It's raining blood on prom night...

The class of '17 graduated. They lived under the dome, they played by the rules and they made it. They graduated. And they were going to have a prom too. Well, it wasn't like... An ideal prom. A real prom. A no-curfew prom but it was something. So, the class of '17 headed to Havensdale Town Hall (one room, 2 exits, easy to surveil and keep safe), before curfew, and danced the early evening away. They made some memories, they drank their punch. The teachers that chaperoned this year were on high alert, ready for the worst to happen. But it didn't. Everyone went home on time and it was over. Or so they thought. The unrest in the class of '17 had been growing, the plan had been strictly whispered among only them although more would come along. They had a plan. They were going to have a real after-prom party, after curfew. Someone had stolen the keys to the school, someone had supplied the cheap beer. Someone had made the most awesome party playlist and everyone was dressed up. For a while, it was fun. It was free. It was almost like everything was back to normal. And then they heard the first screams.

After curfew, the claws come out...

The doors locked in the school gym and it was every man for themself. With the heroic efforts of Laurie Black (Liam Black's sister) - Landon Callaghan, Yvonne DeLisle, Jamie McArthur and Annie Porter made it out. So many of their classmates didn't. Laurie included.

Tick, tick, boom!!

Just when they thought it was over... there was an explosion! Only, it was weird. It was like, an implosion - it perfectly demolished Havensdale High without any flying shrapnel, without any mess. It was science. It was magic. It was the same weapon the Resistance had tried to use on November 2016. The one they had to abandon at Montgomery Manor. The one the bad guys planted in the school basement instead. It happened so fast. Now, there's nothing but carnage and chaos. If you're out on the streets now, you better run fast.

OOC Information:

You can now make starters in the aftermath of the chaos! For those select few unfortunate enough to be at the event, you can also make any threads during along with headcanons/drabbles/etc.

Your character might be safely inside but heard the explosion, or they're glued to the news listening to Wendy Star talk shit about the Resistance. They might be out on the street, caught in the crossfire. They might have been at the after-prom party or passing by the school. Let us know if you need anything cleared up!

The underground Resistance's alarm bells will have been LITERALLY going off so we can have agents on the ground, we can have our team on comms freaking out. We can have Xavier from weapons freaking out!!

Bad guys can be taking this opportunity to cause chaos in the streets, getting into fights - biting humans!? TURNING them!? - and standing toe-to-toe with the Resistance. Are some characters going to get hurt? Are some characters going to be #shaken? Are some characters never going to recover from the parts they've played? Probably!

If you would like anything major to happen to your character (ie. turnings), please do message us first!

Full Plot is now updated!

Founder’s Festival, June 2013. The good guys tried their best, they fought back with everything they had but it wasn’t enough. Edward Carrington, Frederick Bellefonte and Engel took over the town. Things escalated quickly. A supernatural barrier came down around the town (known as ‘the dome’) trapping its townsfolk. After the initial losses, the initial fight, Havensdale fell into a ‘new normal’. There’s a curfew for humans now and everyone knows the truth now about the supernatural world. The underground Resistance is still going strong, fighting the good fight but for how much longer?  And how long before its not just Havensdale under the control of the bad guys? How long before it’s the world?

Havensdale Valley, May 2017 - Present Day

Here are the essentials you need to know for your daily life in Havensdale today (AKA making starters!):

There is a curfew in place. Before curfew, the bad guys have forbid that anyone attack/turn/eat etc. anyone in town. However, if you're caught out after curfew... It's all fair game. Whether your characters abide by these rules, is up to you!

Any starters made from now until the plot drop will be before curfew! Our plot drop will involve what happens after...

The class of 2017 (Jamie McArthur, Annie Porter, Landon Callaghan...) has now graduated! There is a small daytime celebration but nothing to really sing and dance about.

There are a few notable locations in Havensdale now! Check them out here. If you make a starter in a specific location, just pop it in the tags! (Especially if you're underground so other Resistance members/residents can reply).

Since everyone now knows about the supernatural creatures, your vampires/werewolves/witches etc. can use their powers out in the open!

If you're going to ie. compel a human, bite them, get into a supernatural scrap - as ever, message your partner to clear the plot first!

Inside the dome Engel has made it so supernatural creatures are invulnerable! The usual weapons (stakes/silver/etc.) do NOT work on creatures inside the dome.

Inside the dome Engel has made it so werewolves can turn any time, not just under the full moon. They can also only bring out their teeth/claws, if they want.
