Going back to the Capital
Hill Day at the Minnesota State Capital was an interesting experience. I had been there for a similar field trip my senior year in high school but I still learned some new things this time around. While exploring the building, we bumped into a janitor in the basement corridor who told us stories about the ghosts and secret passageways of the building. I also learned a lot about the actual building itself from a conversation we had with one of the tour guides/ information secretaries. The Minnesota State Capital was the very first build of designer Cass Gilbert and was completed in 1905. That build got him many more jobs, including public architectural icons like the United States Supreme Court building.

The Infamous Hill Day
When I first found out that we were going to attend this Hill Day I had no idea what this day was even about. My first thought was sweet we get to go check out some hills and get points for it. But after some interviews with some pretty interesting workers we found out that hill day was a day were students or anyone can go to the Capital and ask Legislators questions about anything that goes on at the Capital. Also you are able to walk around which we did and the Capital is a pretty cool building and it is huge.
