God, she hated this. Harper was the last person she wanted to see, but business was business. Scarlett didn't like going behind Marrow's back, but she knew this would rake in the dough. Plus, Harper had been looking to bump out Derek as Alpha for awhile now. It was payback for all the shit he'd put her through, and that made her more than happy to help.
She brought him into the back, offering him up directions to the actual exchange of weapons. All she had there was her laptop, accounting paperwork, some pieces to be priced and set up in the front, along with basic cleaning supplies for her pawn shop.
Pulling up the encrypted file, she showed Harper the goods. "As you can see, we have more than enough. That oughta keep the rival pack from pushing their weight around too much. Just remember -- you made the commitment to myself and Marrow. You owe us now, so don't go fuckin' this up," Scarlett shutdown the computer and handed him the flashdrive. "Half hour. After that, the deal's off and you're on your own."
He nodded and made a quick, "What, no kiss," remark as he strutted his Alpha arrogance around like it was his hard-on.
"Not in this lifetime," she snarled back at him and rolled her eyes, walking him out the front door. "But do me a favor -- don't tell Derek who you're dealin' with. It's one thing to assist you guys, but if Marrow knew who we were workin' with..."
He smirked, "Darlin', you know I've been ready to take out Derek for years. Any edge I have over him is another plus in my book. All he's gonna know is that I got what the pack needs and he doesn't. Nothing more."
"Good. Keep it that way," she replied and sniffed at the air. Shit. Company.
He sensed it too and nodded without her needing to say a word, quickly getting on his bike and revving it up to roll back, not hesitating before taking off. Scarlett looked to the side of the building, hearing the footsteps approach. She went to hold the door open and asked, "You comin' in or did you wanna lurk a little longer?"
