lorrie was trying to get out of the house more. she’d learned, in her long, long history of dealing with mental illness, that seeing sunlight did, indeed, help. so, here she sat, at a cute cafe downtown. her food had yet to come and, as she sipped on her lemonade, she saw a familiar face. she approached with a smile, saying, “shit, your food looks good,” before swiping some off their plate. “what?” she said in response to them. “i’m hungry; my food is taking forever.”
