Beyond the city limits, would she find the ruins of an ancient Greek civilization? With tapestries of dancing faeries and coquettish nymphs, stained by sands of times and waiting to be unearthed? It was a delightful thought, one she would gladly go to explore if the theory was sound. But it's roots were simply wishful thinking, one of the many ways she tried to explain away the sight before her.
