Himora - Argue All You Want
Artist: Himora Album: Argue All You Want Label: Drugstore Records Genre: Hard Rock
This swaggers into view as "Just Can't Stop" kicks things off but it's the sort of style that either intrigues or just repeats itself over and over. "Like A Heart Attack" is then slower, moodier and darker before a more classic feel on the next, "Too Long At The Fair". What a relief! There isn't too much variation from a central theme but there is enough. Too often this sort of album can become a lazy parade but Himora have really come up with a good mix of songs. The guitar licks are varied and interesting and there is a rich mellow tone to the vocal. The best of the classic US rock bands has been merged well with a modern upbeat sound and they find space for some wallowing and then upbeat stomping. They dip toes into the sounds of Bad Company and Aerosmith (their bio) as well as many more and it is a really journey of styles around the core body. Light, fun and varied this will have broad appeal - worth checking out. 16/20
