Headcanon #35- Second Year! AU and Injured! Hinata

Hinata’s knee injury makes it hard for him to walk around. The team comes up with a system to make sure he can get everywhere, much to Hinata’s embarrassment.

Kageyama:

Carries him to morning practice, lunch, afternoon practice, and to the bus stop after practice ends. He and Hinata are both red faced throughout this process, as the team usually talks about how casual it seems for them to be so close. Hinata usually has his arms loosely around Kageyama’s neck to avoid choking him, though Kageyama’s grip on Hinata’s thighs are usually tight. Eventually is becomes so second nature that even when Hinata can walk about, Kageyama carries him around.

Tsukishima+Yamaguchi:

Carries Hinata in between classes so that people don’t bump into him and knock him over with his crutches. Surprisingly, the first time it happened, Yamaguchi was the one to get angry and ordered the person to apologize. When he didn’t, Yamaguchi forced him to face Hinata, who had been helped up by Tsukishima. The man apologized and ran off, Tsukishima and Hinata impressed at Yamaguchi’s change in attitude. The pinch server just laughed it off and said he had learned from Tanaka.

Tsukishima holds Hinata on his back similar to Kageyama, though is a lot more cautious about who is around him to make sure no one hits Hinata’s injury. Hinata apologises profusely for the first few days until Tsukishima makes a joke that he forgot Hinata was on his back because of how light he was.

Yamaguchi usually loops an arm around him to help him walk, wanting Hinata to feel independent even with the injury. Hinata appreciates this, clinging to Yamaguchi whenever his knee hurts too much for him to continue walking.

Nishinoya:

Carries Hinata bridal style and tells him to trust his senpai.Hinata gets super shy whenever this happens, because he says that it was completely unnecessary. Nishinoya ignores him, often just grinning and enjoying how easily his kohai gets flustered. He tells Hinata that he should enjoy the ride, because it is not everyday that people get to be carried by him.

Hinata wraps his arms around his neck usually, surprised that the smallest of the team is one of the strongest.

Tanaka:

Lost his privileges to carry Hinata after tripping over his own two feet and almost falling on him. He does, however, give Hinata massages and PT that he researched online to make sure the injury is going smoothly. He is kind of like the temporary medic. Hinata is grateful to Tanaka, as the spiker sometimes puts him on his shoulders so he can get a few spikes in before anyone notices.

Yachi:

Helps with the bandaging and keeping Hinata calm during practices. While everyone else practices, she sits with him and talks with him about poster ideas and future plays.They often have heart to hearts, as Yachi is still a bit nervous about being the official manager for the team after Kiyoko leaves and Hinata is concerned about his injury and whether he can jump again. Yachi also brings medicine and other random things to practice for Hinata as a way to cheer him up, Hinata grinning wide whenever she brings something useless, but appreciating the effort and accepting it gratefully.
