"Once upon a time, before Sayaka was insane She dated this reserve course guy, Hajime Hinata was his name"
Honestly while they don't have a lot in common, they do both share an intense drive to get what they want no matter the cost and going to any lengths to achieve their dreams. They've both got an intense drive about them. What I'm trying to say that if their goals were switched Hajime would totally fucking kill for his dream and Sayaka would get a lobotomy for hers and I think they could bond over that shared intensity. Also Sayaka may in fact just be into normies.
Pekonami
"I kinda feel like Peko needs someone hopeful to be around, who will engage with her at her own pace and not push her too far out of her comfort zone when she's not prepared but still lead her towards a more healthy path, which I think Chiakis exactly right for. Conversely, I see Peko as someone who's much more likely to stand up for others than herself and I feel like she could push Chiaki to be a bit more assertive also just I think Chiaki finds Peko really cool. To a certain extent I also just think they look cool together aesthetically lol and I could imagine Chiaki getting Peko into video games and stuff which I think would be a really sweet hobby for her - especially since maybe she could engage with cute animals in video games without them being scared of her and it could get her to chill out a bit."
I think if they say over a paragraph i get to just give a thumbs up of approval and move on
How do you think HinaZono would happen? I’d like to imagine they’d meet in college. After Sayaka retired as an idol and finding a better career option (probably an accountant) and Hajime’s aiming to be a teacher. They’d build their relationship after Hajime lets her hide out in his area and blossoms into something more.
I think, within the context of Hope's Peak, Sayaka appreciates Hajime's down-to-earth nature and the fact he's actually quite confident in spite of how normal he is, and Hajime just likes how sweet Sayaka is
Princess Sayaka was loved by all, and revered by her people. She was their precious princess and known for her kindness. However, the princess was heavily guarded, and her appearances in front of her people were few and far in between.
The young princess had a strict curfew even inside of the castle. She was to keep her interactions with commoners to a minimum. She was to sing only when she was told. And lastly, the princess was strictly prohibited from engaging in relationships with anyone.
There were suitors of course that traveled from far and wide to greet her, although her handlers were extremely picky about who was allowed to visit her.
That didn’t stop Prince Shouyou from pining, however.
The prince was from a neighboring kingdom, only a river and a few miles over. Sayaka and Shouyou had played together when they were children. They had grown up in a world where their kingdoms were friendly and relied on one another for strength and resources. But of course, over time, the two children had to grow up. They were expected to uphold certain responsibilities and their interactions slimmed. Letters to one another were their only communication, and even those became few and far in between.
And over the years Shouyou kept hope that the princess would still remember him. Because he was a sitting prince basically waiting around to become king, he was expected to travel around as a diplomat and make amends with other kingdoms. However, despite seeing many beautiful princesses and being pushed to choose his bride, Shouyou couldn’t think of anyone other than his childhood friend that he wanted to marry.
Shouyou stopped in his tracks.
“Did I really just think that? Okay..apparently I’m admitting to wanting to marry Sayaka...great.” he mumbled to himself.
The orange haired prince hadn’t quite accepted the fact that he was pining for a girl he hadn’t seen in years. At this point, she could be a completely different person! He might just be in love with the thought of her, the idea that the two of them were meant to be after being childhood friends.
But today was the day that the heir would have to come to terms with his feelings about the Princess who was coming of age. It was her birthday, after all. And this year, the kingdom was throwing a ball in her honor. When a woman turned 20, she was expected to find a suitor before the end of the winter. And unfortunately for Sayaka, that meant within the next 5 months.
The prince swallowed. He’d be happy for her. No matter what.
Prince Shouyou was nervous, but incredibly excited. He stood with a variety of flowers in his hand that Koushi suggested to him. Koushi was their castle’s florist, and he made sure the grounds were surrounded with beautiful flowers and arbor. Hinata trusted his advice, and made sure to find an expert for the bouquet of flowers that he had prepared for Sayaka. He looked at the brightly colored assortment of flowers in his hands and smiled. They reminded him of her. Koushi had taken the time to explain each and every flower and their meaning, although the young prince simply found the arrangement to be pretty.
There were lilies to represent happiness and prosperity. Hinata certainly wished her a lot of that. Pink roses for admiration and appreciation. Koushi had warned that red roses were a bold statement of love and romanticism, so the red head didn’t want to jump the gun with that. If he were to make a brash proclamation of love, well...he’d do it in his own way.
And lastly, he added sunflowers. Koushi said that the flower reminded him of the bright prince and that Princess Sayaka would probably agree. Sunflowers. according to Koushi...represented adoration. He secretly hoped Sayaka knew that.
He looked at the grand castle, hearing the joyous music pouring from the windows. The people all around him rushed around in fancy tailcoats and poofy hats he had never seen before. The birth of Princess Sayaka was truly a blessing after all. People of all sorts came from far and wide to see the princess’ smiling face. Just her laugh alone could cure the coldest of hearts. Hinata squeezed his chest.
He wanted to hear that laugh again.
He filed into the castle, flashing his pink invitation at the guards. They nodded and allowed him to pass. When he walked in, he was immersed in the beautiful pinks and blues that were swirling around the room. She definitely had a hand in decorating, he mused to himself. As the young prince scanned the room for her, he made eye contact with sea foam green eyes. He stared back as his heart pounded in his chest.
Him.
His feet carried to him in his direction, although the man was honestly one of the last people Shouyou wanted to see tonight. It was probably that piercing gaze and that all encompassing presence that the knight had.
Gaara.
Sayaka’s sole protector and valued knight.
In many ways, the young prince envied him. He got to spend every waking hour with Princess Sayaka. He got to see her every smile, her every laugh, without worry of anyone dragging them apart. Gaara acknowledged Hinata with a deep bow.
“Prince Shouyou.”
Hinata’s nervousness around intimidating people was kicking in, and he couldn’t help his voice from shaking. Even though Gaara was showing this subservience, Hinata couldn’t help but feel the true ire dripping through his every syllable.
The young prince tipped his head and nervously smiled.
“A-ah! Gaara! It’s been so long!” He laughed nervously, remembering how even as children Gaara had always stayed nearby to watch the two. He would never play with them, always keeping a safe distance away from the pair. He watched from afar, seemingly waiting.
Gaara nodded. He was never much for pleasantries or small talk, so Shouyou was relieved that not much had changed about him. He was much taller than Shouyou now. He looked stronger. His arms were toned and his body appeared as if he had been honing it for battle. Of course he was strong.
He had to protect her with his life after all.
The young prince could feel himself internally screaming at the awkward lull in the conversation, but he didn’t have the heart to say anything else. Gaara seemed unphased by the silence, after all, he wasn’t one for conversation. His eyes flickered to the bouquet of flowers in the prince’s hand and looked to his right.
“Princess Sayaka is over there.”
Hinata perked up at this, ignoring the fact that Gaara could probably hear him mentally screaming to find her. When he turned, his mouth slightly fell agape at the sight. Gaara knew all along what Shouyou’s true intentions were.
It was fine, tonight was the princess’ night after all. Gaara could feel the envy emanating from the prince’s tiny frame. The fact that the knight had spent his days serving at the princess’ side probably tore the young prince apart. The prince probably thought Gaara was lucky. Lucky to bask in the princess’ light. And in a way, Shouyou was right. Gaara did love the princess. He was dedicated to protecting her with his life. That much was true. But being so close to her each and every day was torture for a man whose heart had fallen into the wrong hands. The knight had slowly fallen into an inescapable abyss, one that only allowed him to see the gentle light that Princess Sayaka let in. He was bewitched, trapped in a vortex of emotions that even he could not reconcile.
Their relationship was strictly business. A familial contract that Gaara, the son of the King’s knight, swore to protect the young princess until the end of his days. And that’s how it was for a long time, although as Gaara learned of her kindness, he couldn’t explain the feelings desperately clawing their way out of his chest. Being at her side every day was a blessing and a curse. His personal heaven but his private hell. Being so close, but never being able to touch. To talk with her endlessly but to never speak the truth. Shouyou didn’t know the real pain of being so close to the one you loved.
And here he was so open about it. The young prince was brimming with excitement. The adoration flashing in his eyes hid no emotions. Shouyou was an open book, his pages fluttering and allowing everyone to read his every page.
Gaara kept his lid shut, a chain wrapped around the bindings of the covers as to protect his every secret, his every memory, her every word. He would protect her no matter the cost. He would protect her even if this secret had to die with him. Gaara looked at her, hiding his longing behind a cold gaze.
Flowers always turn to the sun. Gaara mused, turning away and slinking back into the shadows. Even if his love went unrequited, he would stay silent for her sake.
“W..wow..” Shouyou mouthed, aimlessly walking towards her direction. The blue tresses of her hair fell around her shoulders delicately, appearing as though they were painted on her by the brush strokes of a careful artist. Her dress was a light pink ball gown, billowing around her like freshly spun cotton candy. Hinata’s heart pounded harder. And when she looked up past those feathery eyelashes, his heart stopped.
Those gentle blue eyes, the eyes that reminded him of the ocean that they spent collecting shells by as children were watching him. The eyes that filled with tears when they were forced apart, were watching him. Those eyes that flickered with wonder and happiness as she stumbled towards him were watching him.
And he was watching her.
In all of her beauty, in all of her light, he had been watching her.
She excitedly came up to him and wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him tight.
“Shouyou! It’s been so long!” she bubbled, squeezing him tight. And Hinata could feel his heart squeezing, squeezing, until he felt like it would burst. She was here with him now, and that was all that mattered. Although Shouyou knew their interaction may have appeared inappropriate to outsiders, he also knew the princess didn’t care. She was impulsive, yes, but that’s what he loved about her.
Ah, that word. Love. It was such a fleeting word in times like this where marriages were planned and you were taught that time could create love.
But love is fickle, love is not something to be produced or forced. Love is ephemeral and dangerous.
Love is love, or love is not.
But here in this moment with her, she was real, and she was with him after all this time. He would revel in her aura for as long as he could. He would selfishly engulf himself in her glimmering presence. He wouldn’t let a single moment slip away.
When she pulled away, he looked at her longingly, smiling back at her with bright eyes.
“Happy Birthday. I’ve missed you so much, princess.” he spoke quietly, his words carrying only to her in that bright room full of people. She nodded, their arms still wrapped around each other. Sayaka, too, was basking in the warmth that Shouyou emanated.
It had been so long since she had seen the sun.
“I...I brought these for you!” his hands shook with the bouquet that had slightly wilted with all of their excitement. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the flowers.
“Shouyou! They’re beautiful! Thank you!” she smiled. She placed the bouquet into a vase that sat atop the piano. He quirked his eyebrow at the fact that there was a vase so conveniently nearby.
“How did you...”
“After all the times you brought me flowers you picked from the castle grounds for my birthday as kids? Shouyou, please.” She giggled. Hinata turned bright red at that.
Am I really that predictable?
He gave her a sheepish smile and reached his hand out to her.
“Maybe a dance to make up for it?”
Sayaka smiled and placed her hand in his.
The blinding light of the sun reflects brightly against the soft sapphire waves of the ocean. The sea’s ripples will absorb the light, taking in as much as she can. And the sun will keep shining, warming her until the water can be at rest.
tbh I can see them both falling asleep on the couch together, they probably both fall asleep during movies.
who wakes up first
Sayaka, she always has an alarm set to go off. She has things to do and she doesn't like wasting time. Some days she has to drag Hinata out of bed.
who cooks the most
Probably Hinata, Sayaka is ok at cooking basic meals for herself but I think Hinata would be more adventurous and try to get her to eat different things.
who’s in charge of the tv remote
Hinata has control over the remote, Sayaka doesn't mind unless there is a musical or something of the sort on at the time. Otherwise it's sports all day, everyday.
who takes the longest getting ready
Definitely Sayaka. She's a but too obsessed with making sure she looks 'perfect', she also tends to have difficulties choosing what to wear.
who takes up most of the bed
Probably Hinata, but they tend to cuddle a lot so it doesn't matter.
if/what pets they have
Sayaka has never had a pet, so she'd most likely be up for whatever Hinata wanted. Tbh they would probably get a puppy and treat it like their child.
